ok, i dont how people do this, but i played smash4 not that long ago, and ran into somebody using mario. and, here's what he did: he got me over the edge, i tried to get up, and somehow, he basically spiked me downward, forcing me out of bounds. this happened like 3 times: all 3 times being on me. my first thought was "why is this guy only targeting me? ugh!!" i was getting very, very frustrated. after a while, i started to predict what he was gonna do, but even then i couldnt get away for long. so, it was basically a 1-hit kill every time he did it. this happened a little bit ago, and after the battle i just left. there was no way i was gonna deal with him again if i didnt have to. too frustrating and not worth it. i really hope he gets banned for this, cuz im still pretty mad about it. there were 2 other players, yet he kept going for me. Ugh!! i hate it when people do that!

Get good and tech. He probably just back aired you into the stage which sent you down wards. Or used is forward air to spike you or gimped you. It's not that hard to dodge.
 
how do i dodge it? i was using bayonetta by the way. still trying to familiarize myself with her....

You press the shield button in mid air. Or you can press it the moment you hit the stage. Or simply down b and go into witch time. It's very simple
 
ah, thanks. i dont know how i forgot about that down special, lol. funny how i forget such simple solutions.
 
Yeah, You press the shield button in midair to dodge. You can do it multiple times, and it does a quick dodging animation, and mario's hit will sail right pass you. Mario is one of the best characters to use if you want to spike, so is captain falson, greninja(If you know what your doing) Gandorf, and a few others. You have to be careful when your in that kind of situation. When I play as link, I normally grab the opponent, slam them down, and hit them with a triple upward slash. When they come back down, I side+B smash them, sending them flying over the edge. At this point, they have enough damage for a successful spike, so I grab them when they get back onto the stage, and throw them over the edge. Then I jump off the edge and down+A them, and they get sent flying. The bad thing about spikes is that if you are the one spiking, and you miss, theres almost no coming back from it.
 
Uh I hate when I'm specifically targeted...it's no fun. That's why I try and go after everyone equally.

oh i hate the butt hurt people that are online. its funny because the butt hurt are always the people that suck.

Yeah i no.... Much annoying. If i get mad enough i do it bak, but not usually unless i know the person is just hating for i dont know what reason. If i get to tired of it i just finish present fight and leave the wifi from there, not waste time with bullies.
