Alright, as a Jigglypuff player [far from a main], I'd like to add my two cents into the discussion with a list of pros and cons that are comprised from my time playing Jiggs in Smash 4 ONLY.
PROS:
- Jigglypuff is an amazing air fighter, having multiple jumps, Jiggs can maneuver around dominate close range fighters like Little Mac and ultimate eek out damage with nair and fair pokes.
- Jigglypuff has insane recovery, consider the loftiness/floaty physics a con if you will but there are situations where you want to land safely on the stage without your opponent dash attacking you and Jiggs can do just that if you are telegraphing where you'll land.
- Jigglypuff is small and has an even shorter duck/crouch. You can completely avoid attacks like a full charge arrow from either of the Links or the blaster from Fox or Falco by just holding down. This makes projectile game or more specifically the space animals projectile game, useless in the face of this Pokemon.
CONS:
- Jigglypuff has little reach on most of it's moves and because of this, suffers to resorting to getting up close to an opponent or in general having to put oneself in unsavory positions.
- Jigglypuff has some of the WORST specials/b moves in the ENTIRE SERIES. Some would argue that down b is an amazing move, and if this were Melee I'd agree it is! But this being Smash 4, and Sakurai having nerfed it in power kinda makes that moves not as reliable as before.
- Jigglypuff is not a speedy fighter whatsoever, lacking the ability to keep up with the likes of Sonic, Fox, Shiek and Diddy and barely keeping up with the likes of Charizard, Falco, Lucario and Zelda. Jiggs players will be forced into playing a mean game of bait and punish or just waiting for the opponent to slip up most of the time but when they do you can be assured that Jigglypuff's offensive prowess will shine with the right followups and reads.
Hopefully I broke down some of Jigglypuff's gameplay down, this character is really fun to play actually and is definitely one of my favorites!
