Yes,we just had Mario & Luigi Paper Jam released in less than 4 months overall around the globe, but Paper Mario has some more business to solve apparently,as shown by the most recent Nintendo Direct as of this small thread's posting. :pompus:
Remember some rumors whistling around about a supposed Paper Mario game on the Wii U?Well,'twas true.Showing its identity to the world, here comes Paper Mario Color Splash!

Now I'm sure many people may already raise up some questions and suspicions because this game looks somewhat familiar to Paper Mario Sticker Star, which basically in short description,is the entry with the most low of reputations amomgst fans all around.Only time will tell whether that will be true or not.

Well then, what would be your initial thoughts about Color Splash?

When I first saw the Color Splash trailer, I think I was too busy getting hyped over the fact that people actually called a Paper Mario game for the Wii U, and seeing that just made me go nuts xD.

The game looks fun, although I hope it doesn't pull a Sticker Star @-@
I'm counting on you for this one Nintendo.

On a much more exciting note, Emily Rogers (the one who said she had heard rumblings about Paper Mario Wii U back in January) also heavily hinted at Mother 3 coming west.

So yeah.

So with the recent announcement of Paper Mario: Color Splash. I've been thinking of something: will we see an inkling cameo and what will the story be like. For starters, I believe that the main cause for the problem has to be some sort of artist or something, that's jealous of how beautiful the world is and wants to get rid of it and teams up with bowser to do that sole purpose. I'm also wondering about the mechanics of the color hammer. Will enemies of weaknesses or not? We can only wait and see. Now the reason I say an inkling cameo is, well, the paint and ink. One can only expect to see some sort of inkling appearance :p What are your thoughts on this, the direct and everything else that appeared

Looks like nothing special. They ruined Paper Mario with Paper Mario Sticker Star. Mario and Luigi Paper Jam doesn't look that special. I'm not getting hyped for this. I'm just waiting for Kirby Planet robobot to come out. The only things that interest me in the direct is Kirby, updates, my nintnedo, that's all

So, Nintendo announced a new Paper Mario game for the Wii U at the latest Nintendo Direct, and what are your thoughts?

I'm honestly not enjoying the game being a "Paper Mario" game. I would of liked to see a more original Paper Mario like TTYD & the 64 game, but so far the game itself actually looks kind of fun.

The U.S. barely got any footage, so you couldn't tell much about the game from the trailer, but looking over to Japan's & Europe's Direct they gotta' see A LOT more gameplay.

The trailer starts out as Mario & Peach arrive at Prism Island. The start got me excited, because it reminded me of TTYD's beginning, but anyway, back to the game. The town you arrive at is deserted & colorless, and its your job to restore the island's color.

We still don't know much about the paint concept, but it looks interesting. In the beginning you get a magical hammer, which can spread paint around when you slam it against objects. So, the video shows Mario hitting colorless objects with his hammer & restoring the color to random stuff. But, you only have so much paint (we know this from a gauge in the top left corner), so you can't just slam around your hammer willy-nilly I assusume. Your hammer also only has three colors, which are the three primary colors. Red, blue, and yellow. So, if you paint a flower blue, you'll lose blue paint from your gauge. And, if you need to paint some thing purple, you'll lose both red & blue from your gauge (since blue & red combined makes purple)

So, we know that the game will be fairly similar to Sticker Star. It'll have the same level system and it looks like you'll have to find a star in each level like Sticker Star. But, instead of using stickers in battles you'll be using cards, which you'll find around the world. Each card does an action. For instance, if you use a hammer card you'll do a hammer move and so on. But, the catch is each card takes up paint, and you only have so much paint, so you'll be trying to battle while conserving paint, making strategy a bit more key then Sticker Star.

That's about all to say, I could go more deep into, but there's no need.

My opinions on Color Splash are, that I think the graphics look amazing and that I'm annoyed that it's taking a worrying amount of ideas from Sticker Star. I don't understand why Nintendo would want to use so many of Sticker Star's ideas after it being considered the worst Paper Mario game and just a general negative reception.

It looks like a really fun game. If I get a chance I'll try to play it, even though I'm a big TTYD fanboy.
But I wanna wait to play it before I say something about it.

Same, that's why I'm partly disappointed with this game because I really wanted a game like TTYD, even though this game looks fun.
