Back around mid-January, I started a contest for everyone to try their hand at drawing a sprite I cropped together:
Well, after a couple weeks longer than expected, the last few submissions have been turned in and I finally have some results for everyone! There sadly weren't as many participants as I would have liked, and some had to drop out due to conditions out of their control. However, one lucky person has won the prize of a $20 eshop card code! This person is @nicklesimba for his surprisingly detailed entry:
Out of all of the other submissions, this one really stuck out. There's a great amount of depth in the shading to make him look less two-dimensional, and did a good job hiding the flames on his side that many others seemed to have trouble with. And the symbols in the background are a very nice subtle touch. But the deciding factor was just how freakin mad he looks for no real reason. xD It really made me laugh the first time I saw it, and I still love seeing his desire to punch my face in through my monitor.
Along with the grand prize that will be messaged to the winner shortly, I will also be using his submission as my new avatar! Also, all participants who have submitted their entry to me before my final decision has received 15pc. A sort of compensation I felt that I owed everyone for taking as long as I did with deciding a winner. 1pc for each day past my initial end date for the conest. (Though some of you didn't get your entries to me until after the 13th *cough*)
I will be editing this post shortly with the other submissions, but I wanted to get this out first. This contest didn't go over as smoothly as I would have liked, but it was my first contest I've ever done. So I'd love to get any feedback regarding ways I could possibly improve my next contest! Be it format, contest type, small details I missed, or even just what you liked about it! For those unfamiliar with my contest that took place, here's a link to it: http://forum.3dspedia.com/threads/p...you-voted-in-the-poll-post-by-the-13th.12893/
A big thanks to all who participated and for any ways I might make my next contest even better!
