I was thinking (unsurprisingly) and thought of how Play Coins are kind of useless on the 3ds. I mean, if you're taking the effort to implement a system like this, you might as well give it some good uses in something other than StreetPass and Animal Crossing. So, I decided to get all of your opinions of it. What uses would you add to the Play Coin system?

Play Coins aren't completely useless in use :p There are many games for the 3ds that use play coins such as Pokemon Rumble World or Kid Icarus : Uprising , etc . I think that they're purpose was mostly to add a little small feature into the gameplay so I think that they are a nice addition to the 3ds' features , although considering they don't have exactly much uses :p

Fair enough. I believe that the coins should be redeemable for store credit, like 100 play coins=$1 to encourage people to exercise. They'd need to do something about 10 coin limit a day, but it might work.
Another thing that would be cool in Pokemon is if you could pay with Play Coins instead of PokeDollars. Or maybe have a move tutor take PC instead of cash/time.

I think that that would be a nice idea, it would definitely make me want to exercise xD Although something i would like to point out is that i think it would be fair if, this were to be implemented, that the play coins be reset so that people who have been hoarding play coins ( i know someone who has like 10,000pc) can be on the same par as possibly newer 3ds users, so that everyone gets a fresh and fairer start to this new system, and so that Nintendo does not go bankrupt straight away xD

Alright, that would make sense. Hey Nintendo, this would be good for PR if you encouraged exercise!
Maybe instead of destroying a stash, Nintendo can give the people with more than, say, 100 play coins a warning to spend them now or they'll be cut down to 100. I don't know, this is all hypothetical. (But wouldn't that be cool? Exercise, then you essentially get a free game after a few days of exercise?)

i've always thought that there should be a way to use them to get eshop credit on the 3ds. the only problem is that some people will just change the date constantly and get about 300 pc a day :bag:

So why not just make it so if you change the date, you can't get PC for 24 hours? Like in Pokemon, if you change the date all the stuff goes awry and you can't get any of the time-relevant things like massages and flags for bases. It would make sense to do something like that even if they didn't implement the whole PC-eShop thing, just to be fair to those who don't timecheat.

some people used to thing that this play coins are useless but if you want to use them you need to know where the play coins are used ,play coins are use to purchase various thing on street plaza or whatever.

There's plenty of things you could use play coins/ the step counter for. A Pokewalker, training your Amiibo, or to unlock secrets in games (not like features in Swapnote, I want my PC back Nintendo!). However I don't really think there should be more uses for Play Coins as you need a ton of them for Find Mii II and Puzzle Swap (and there could be more puzzles yet) if you don't Streetpass anyone frequently.

Play Coins aren't useless in my opinion. They ate mostly needed for features like Puzzle Swap and Find Mii. They can also be used to buy in game items like the fortune cookies in Animal Crossing New Leaf. Play Coins are more of a type of special currency, kind of like diamonds or gems.

Awww, you reminded me of the PokeWalker. I miss that little thing. But anyway, you make a point about the Find Mii II and Puzzle Swap thing. But what about once you complete those? Then you've got a currency that's useless until they update the system or you buy Animal Crossing. What if you get all the items from the fortune cookie in Animal Crossing? Then you've got a truly useless currency. But since games are always coming out, Play Coins would be useful if they could be used on the eShop.

Though I'd personally would really love that Idea of eshop credit exchange with the 3ds' Play Coins , I think that Nintendo would probably be losing money that way XD But I like that Pokemon Idea however

I think that the limit of 3ds pc that you can have is 300 right ? :p then how did that person you are referring got 10000 :hilarious: ?

Yep! 300 play coins MAX. So Nintendo could make it so it's like 1000 limit, then it's like 100 PC = $1 in eShop money. It would probably lose some money, but Nintendo's doing pretty well right now. They can afford to take a risk, and it would be good for PR and stock prices.

Being able to earn 100 play coin's a day...Im tired of walking around for 20 minutes going into settings changing the date and doing it over again...So if i could add 1 thing it would be the ability to earn 100 play coin's a day!

Play Coins aren't all useless. They can be used for AR games, Streetpass Mii Plaza, Super Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, The Sims, etc...

I was thinking of so many ideas for Play Coins on 3DS. I think they should make a update to Pokemon X, Y, OR and AS so we can spend Pokemon for Play Coins and Poke Dollars. Maybe in Mario Kart 7 you could spend Play Coins for Karts and even new tracks as free DLC. In Smash 3DS you do not have to just spend them for trophies, you should do Wager Battles and get things as DLC for free. In the 3DS eShop you should spend Play Coins for games. Instead of holding up to 300, I'd rather recommend 1,000 Play Coins.

You can use Play Coins for the Streetpass Plaza games, training your Amiibo, and Pokemon Rumble World among many others. I wish that the play coins would be easier to get and a higher max of play coins, more than 300.

Play coins have many feture they are trying to add for more gameplay elements like loz like between worlds there are these ghoast you pay to help you with the game. There is also spyhunter so you can buy different things. developers add playcoins here and there but they don't focus on it as much because it would be boring if there key gameplay is to do the hokepoke while holding you new 3ds and then dropping it on concrete and not being able to us it because Nintendo would accept a pooped in 3ds. they you or someone will be crying because they broke their 3ds.

They're not useless. They're just used for things people don't use a lot. =P

I think they're useful cause you can get some really neat stuff in Animal Crossing New Leaf with them. ^-^
