Should there be more hints to DLC characters/stages/etc. sometime soon, please either, mark it with "[ spoiler ]", or don't leak it at all. I think most of the Smash Bros. community would like to be surprised with new content. Just until the new character is actually confirmed, at least. Spread the word if you will.[/spoiler]

People like to spread rumours and at least half the "leaks" aren't actually true. You should simply ignore them and be surprised when they are confirmed.

Maybe you take rumous and leaks a bit too seriously ;)

It's hard not to when it comes to Smash Bros and it's history in the past 2 or 3 years.

It's like that for every video game with DLC and stuff like that. You can't ask people to stop speculate and all, it's part of the gaming communities. Rumours aren't really spoilers until they are actually confirmed. Putting rumours under spoilers would make it worse IMO, it would make people believe it's real while it's not, it's just speculations =/

I don't mind spoilers at all. I like being informed on what's coming later in the future. It doesn't ruin anything for me because I know I get to experience what we're getting soon and that's what really matters. Besides, it helps to get people hyped for future content. They don't need it hidden from them until the day it comes out.

Anyway, when it leaks it's often like juste 24 hours before nintendo announces it :p

Non-factually, I think I stand for almost everybody when I say I would much rather be surprised with new content via official reveal rather than only hearing rumours about it.

If it's leaked and spoiled (or "very powerful rumours") beforehand, there isn't much hype to look forward to when the time comes for an official reveal, if that makes sense.

Taking the Roy and Ryu leaks as an example. Leaving the apparent discovered sound files aside, there was a bigger audience reaction to leaks found the day before they were officially confirmed in a trailer, rather than the official day alone.

Simply avoid that type of content. We can't stop people from speculating and sharing rumours, but you can stop yourself from looking at this content though.

It depends. For example, (@DrakeJericho, don't click!) this topic is ok since it's title is just "A new leak" then the content tells about the rumor. But if the title was "XXX leaked for Smash", then @DrakeJericho would be spoiled in the recent posts list just by the title without even clicking.

Yeah, all I'm asking is that, should there be any leaks on here anyways, mark it with "(spoiler) New Smash Character Leaked" or something.

Don't think this thread was to make me sound like a little whiny brat or anything.

Post in the suggestion area then if you want to enforce a new rule for that. I don't really go for it though ^^'

Well, even though I don't care about being spoiled myself, I can understand that he wants to be surprised. And it doesn't mean "don't leak", it only means "if you want to leak, make sure that the title is safe", so I guess people can do that.
Of course, I don't know how you can change everyone's mind, but I mean that it doesn't prevent anyone from talking/reading about what they want or not, so that should be possible...

I still stand by "a leak shouldn't be considered a spoiler" since as I said, most of the time it's not true, it's just a rumour, and considering them spoilers give them a sort of... "truth"? The majority of "leaks" I saw were not true in the end and I don't like giving credibility nor attention to "leaks".

Most of the time maybe. But the one about Ryu was (unfortunately) true and had proofs, so you knew that you were spoiled and that it was not just a rumor.
