Before I explain how to plot reset and why you would need to plot reset, allow me to explain what dreamies are. I have encountered many people who do not know what the term "dreamies" mean. Dreamies are ultimately villagers you like best. For example, my dreamies are Ankha, Sprinkle, Diana- you get it, right?
Now that that has been explained; plot resetting is simply trying to get villagers to move into certain spots. Let's say you have pretty paths down in your town and you are breeding hybrids and growing your perfect fruit. Then suddenly, a villager moves on top of it and ruins it! This is where plot resetting comes in. The only times it would be actually be necessary to plot reset is when you are expecting a villager to move in (this could also be applied to resetting your campgrounds to try and get the villager you want).
How to do it: before you sign into your mayor's and extra villager's file, you need to set your time one day in advance. When you set the time from your character's file, it ends up saving it. The harm this does is this: any villager that has moved in, will be saved at the spot they first appear. So, go to your settings and change the date from there. All you have to do is advance it one day. Next, you create a new file and go through the whole spiel with Rover. Before you create a house plot and save, you check your town and make sure your villager is moving into an acceptable spot. If they haven't, click the home button, close program and restart the whole process. This might happen between 1-50 times, it just depends on how much space you have for villagers. Once they have moved into a spot you like, save and find a spot for your home. Then you are free to delete the new character you used to plot reset. I've found that if you want all of your villagers plot resetted, it's best to keep your fourth save file clear. Do this with caution!
