so most people who have played this remake on switch might already know that altaria is broken, and yes shes good but i found a much more absurd setup that obliterates everything in the entire game, including mewtwo and rayquaza (these two are the hardest in the post game as they mega evolve). however, it does require some work to get the pokemon i mained after finishing the story... but here is what i did to blast through everything and it works flawlessly.

use kecleon! he has the highest max level stats even with no stat vitamins or gummis used. this cute yet ferocious monstrosity is an absolute game ender. link the moves ancient power+ fury swipes and this kills every post game boss in just a couple minutes. ancient power is first because theres a pretty good chance it will raise every stat by one point. this might sound small but believe me when i say it makes his attack go up really, really quickly. if this happens even twice youve got nothing to worry about or be afraid of. this is the pokemon i was controlling during almost all of my post game rounds. any random pokemon in dungeons are very likely to get one shotted by him. anything with sturdy? fury swipes hits twice and it ends the same way. be warned that in order to get kecleon, you need to prepare for a
very dangerous task. in order to recruit him, you need to purposefully attempt to steal from his shop in a dungeon and knock each wild kecleon out until one joins you. i will go over how to safely and easily do this somewhere else, so dont worry. but i cant go off topic here.

Articuno to speed up and wipe out monster houses quickly so this one is definitely a lot easier to get than my main that i described above, and its pretty straightforward what i used him for. give him blizzard to wipe monster houses, and link with mind reader if possible (use mind reader first though of course). also link all three of these during boss battles, it will keep everyone at max speed and blizzard still does decent damage as well. mind reader is optional but recommended for monster houses, be warned these will happen a lot in post game dungeons so i advise having this so its certain to hit everything (hail+ blizzard works too but be careful concerning teammates who arent ice types, your hp can get low a bit too quickly sometimes). for bosses, mind reader can be skipped on the linked moves but isnt bad for these. agility+ blizzard is a must for bosses though

status healer celebi or meganium =) ok so i dont expect a whole lot of people to have celebi most of all here as she requires completion of the hardest dungeon in the entire game, but i make sure she has heal bell+ earth power (earth power for monster houses, make sure to have a partner with steamroller for places with too many flying pokemon and some with levitate). for people who cant beat purity forest, have meganium with aromatherapy instead as this has the same effect as heal bell and shes significantly easier for any player to get. monster house hazard, use articuno or another ice type with blizzard for those who are too early post game (i would fight him as soon as you can though).

once you have strong enough items and pokemon, i suggest trying a duo kecleon run on any random dungeon quest, have one with food finder, give celebi or meganium small stomach, and a second kecleon to have steamroll. this is my favorite way to play through areas post game and its hilariously busted. you can also have rapid bulls eye for bosses (though i used the above strategy without it) and its pretty much impossible to lose a boss fight or any dungeon quest apart from purity forest and wish cave (the ultra hard lv 1 areas). i suggest food finder and small stomach for very long places so you dont have to chew through so many perfect apples while still trying to kram space for move elixirs (and revive seeds in case of accidents). i hope some other people here can try this out, its a lot of fun and i havent had any faints like this anywhere in the post game. kecleon makes you pretty much invincible lol...

A team of water types are super strong as well, water types have always been pretty strong in mystery dungeon but if you got a team of water types all with surf it will hit everything in the room, just have water absorb or something that absorbs the water attack and you are laughing. i just use a normal team though since its more fun just 3 different types using pokemon i like and just do the dungeon as a happy group lol. but it can be pretty fun mixing up interesting and strong teams. sucks you can only bring 3 instead of 4 now but atleast you can recruit and have a lot more tag along in the dungeon

yeah, i sometimes wish we take a fourth too, that way i can have narrow focus for celebi's perish song and food finder without throwing out steamroll and small stomach ! =P as for having loads of extra teammates, i agree thats also a great change, but i personally keep my main three only unless i need dummy allies to bait a boss since i find it annoying having to babysit the AI constantly turning one square into a room ive already checked just to fight an enemy pokemon that should either be avoided because of being dangerous or just flat out being a waste of time. they have a very annoying and repetitive tendency to do this as i cannot set their command to follow me and it makes a normally easy and pleasant run either a total snoozefest or headache serum run.... this is why i NEVER do escort missions! and if the normally weak escort pokemon dies i would be forced to use reviver seeds on them just for them to die again, its super annoying and too much hassle for my tastes =/

theyre great foe baiting enemies and bosses but on escorts or normal rounds they can waste so... much... time... i only friend pokemon i want because of this and hope i dont have to play the babysitter for 20+ floors (luck here of course), i will probably just flunk it with perish song abuse and be like idc though lol

haha yeah i use to be the same with escort missions! gosh in the original game they would be so annoying and would always die to the weather! was very frustrating especially when they took up your 4th player spot! so glad it doesn't take a main character slot now at least. i do escort missions in the new mystery dungeon just because i find them pretty easy to protect now and they can usually fend for themselves a decent amount as well now which is helpful.

they were definitely much worse in the original but ive seen 'escort nidoqueen in meteor cave' and my instant reaction was yeah thats happening, thats got one shot written all over it... no way was she going to be able to take hits from the illusion deoxys here... some of these actually can hit hard if you arent strong enough and worse than this its what ive called 'move leech dungeon' since every time you use a move you run out a lot faster and i dont really like meteor cave for this reason. its not hard, but its kinda annoying and it definitely forces you to one shot all of them or you can hit zero move points by just the third floor... and this crap punishes me for using AOE's? get that garbage outta here people =P

but how is their survivability in late areas like silver trench? the pokemon have stronger moves in these areas which is why i feel one shot might still happen especially if they turn around to fight like an idiot just to die. i would rather farm early purity forest missions than have to watch out for an underpowered pokemon in a harder post game dungeon tbh... its too much hassle worrying about them getting one shotted or multi hit death spammed just from being stupid and turning around instead of following me. i know theyre more durable this time around but not sure by how much...

you also lose so many rev seeds when enemys just use moves that can hit from 10 tiles away for stuff like discharge or earthquake and your ally just dies like 3 times before you can even deal with the problem from the pokemon spamming the attack everyone move. escorts are still a eh for me but these days ive gotten better at keeping them safe without to much punishment. but i do agree they are still annoying missions to take haha

yes, i still avoid this very often lol... and yeah, most likely they cant survive the AOE spamming the enemy pokemon can have an annoying tendency to do and thats when its almost impossible to keep them from fainting once. i will try to get them first with steamroll and my all AOE moves Celebi i have if there isnt time to back into the halls for a narrow focus perish song. usually its easy to do, but in places like deeo magma cavern theres a pretty good chance the game wont give me enough steps to do it without the guest pokemon fainting at least once... and yeah, multi hit bombing is also pretty bad, the only upside to this is when the first faint happens they dont attack again until you move or do something. most of these moves im pretty sure they have to be as close as possible but others like barrage (the worst one imo) and bullet seed they can be dirty backround campers and this is perpetually dumb especially since we wont always be able to move in place to safely sponge the hit for them. i think these two kinds of moves will still instakill the escort mons sadly...
