Still annoyed...
Towns Folk
So I came across this yesterday night. I'm surprised it's there, maybe Nintendo didn't find it yet, but it's a sort of pokémon game, with actual pokémon in it.

It's called pocket master legends.

I'd definitely consider playing this if it was available in my country's App Store ;~;

@SunnyWindy Did you try it out yet? What are your thoughts about its gameplay? Does it have online play too? :p

I tried it a bit, but not a lot!

It is online, I've seen some people fooling around but I'm not sure yet how we can interact or if we can battle. The battle system is really different overall, it works like battle cards a bit?

The overworld sprites look fantastic but woah do those close ups look bad. James with green hair, really?! GREEN?! *ahem* the video says it's made by DNA, if so, the game is probably legal since Nintendo partnered up with DNA, but somehow I don't believe it.

I found it in the app-store! There actually are two games, one called Pocket Master Saga by Jie Haoand one called Pocket Master Legends by Lei Miao (both appear to be Chinese names), but from the screenshots they appear to be clones. I'm downloading both now to see if I'm right. Worth mentioning: Pocket Master Saga is much older than Legends. It's about a year old. Either Nintendo's censors are sleeping or the game sucks so much they didn't bother removing it. We're about to find out!

The company working with Nintendo is DeNA and not DNA.

I played the game a bit, they changed a couple of character visual like Brock has more hair, Oak has a mustache and glasses, etc.

The story is AWFUL and the game is glitched, horribly. But, it's not half bad, it's fun for a free game?

It just doesn't get past the loading screen on my phone. Neither version does. :-/

I had to try a lot, because if often remains stuck there to me as well.

On which loading screen are you stuck? On my side it often said that I was disconnected while I was not so I had to try and be patient -_- Also often it looked like it was frozen in the loading but after 1-2 minutes the game started. o_O

The first screen, I am a very impatient person when it comes to loading screens. :p Oak with a moustache though! I can handle the glasses, but a moustache?! WHY??

Yeah, I know XD It doesn't look too bad though!

Do you at least reach the screen where it asks you to log in? Because I used to freeze after that.

Jup. I click on Guest and then it freezes.

Ok, it's the exact same place I had trouble with.

Try letting there for a while and see. Like, start it and chill on pedia XD

Nah, I figured my phone just has too little space left. I have way too many apps. :p Deleting some stuff might help. But then there is the fact that my phone overheats & shuts down when it needs to work hard so I doubt I'll get past the loading screen. (I got it second hand, I'm not the person who partially fried the CPU!)

Oh boy, ok. Well, maybe you better skip this game? I mean, it's not that good after all and it's likely to be taken down at one point. It's clearly something Nintendo wouldn't approve IMO...!

Jup, I'll skip it. But since the orinal game is a couple months old already it seems like Nintendo just doesn't care. :p

  • #15
I don't see why they wouldn't care though since there are micro transactions in the game. They make money out of pokémon =/

Then their censors are extremely slow. :p

I guess they are since many websites covered that game already, some being happy about it, some siding more on Nintendo's site and using it to complain about how we lack a proper filter to avoid having these games with "stolen" IP in them.

I don't see it on my app store, and I have a NA iPhone. I don't think it's available in NA at this time, but it would be fun to check this out! I'm actually really surprised a company other than Nintendo actually made this app.
