Being Pokémon which starters do you think will be released with this game? Do think it will be a choice from all the starters (maybe including Pikachu and Eevee based off the anime)?

If so which ones would you guys choose? I personally would pick any of the fire types, but if Pikachu and Eevee were options I'd be sitting there trying to pick out of the two.

Too bad Magikarp isn't an option

It would be hard to choose a starter right now. They might do a thing where different regions get different starters or something. Nonetheless it sounds fun and assuming I can pick amy gen 1-6 starter I might go with Chikorita since it was my first ever starter

Is it confirmed that there will be starter Pokemon? I don't really care for starter Pokemon. It's not that I dislike the Pokemon themselves, it's more the concept of them, being special Pokemon who can't be caught in the wild.

If there weren't starter Pokemon, I would imagine it will be easy to encounter and capture a weak Pokemon with just a Pokeball.

I'm not sure if Pokemon Go will even have starter Pokemon. I could see it going either way. I could see them throwing into a battle and having you catch a pikachu with the professors pokemon through a tutorial or I could see you have to pick a starter and then go through a fight and a tutorial (Kinda like how you picked a starter and then went straight into a fight in Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire/)

If starters are available I would pick bulbasaur.

I think they will release starters depending on the region. Personally, I would like they release in my country either 3rd or 4th generation starters. If 3rd, I would choose Mudkip because Swampert is a beast (trolling electric types with water/ground typing just like in Sapphire game :hilarious: ), if 4th, I would choose Turtwig because I love Torterra :giggle:

Nothing confirmed but the original 151 pokemon will come out with the game having the other regions come out in IAP or updates.

Maybe all the game will give you at the start is a mere Pikachu :p (That will be OP). But really, it's kinda hard to say. I can imagine something like a large pool of Pokemon to choose from (like in PSMD) but I can doubt that >.< Perhaps they might give you a small starter amount?

I don't think pokemon battles have even been confirmed for pokemon go yet. I thought the game was a simple "find pokemon, capture pokemon instantly w/ pokeball". However, if there are starters, I would most likely think either pikachu and/or the kanto starters, however they could instead do a choice between every region (with the most likely exception of Orre) and there starters. Also, they could always do something new, such as something as strange as a new starter. Who knows, only time will tell.

I think it's gonna be the Kanto Starters + Pikachu. I'd pick Charmander. But if it was all of them I would pick... Chickorita? Idk. Unless Pika and Eevee were included, then I'd pick Eevee in a heartbeat

The Pokemon Company revealed Pokemon Go that will be released in 2016, the announcement, to realize that all pokemon are the first generation. So it may be that the first version of the game, only the first generation of pokemon are catchable in the 1.0 version of the game.

Maybe it has some sort of tutorial, in which you encounter a pokemon tied to your current location and your guaranteed to catch it. Would be probably be something unevolved ofcourse, but its just an idea and would make people start with differenct mons right of the bat.

That would make sense. Or just make you catch a Pikachu, that's more Nintendo's style but I'd prefer the first.

@Skyshaymin and @TheUltimateC I agree that that's what's probably going to happen, or it could start out like Pokemon Yellow did, where they give you a pokemon, and then teach you how to catch Pokemon directly after. However if they did take the wild pokemon route, if it isn't a pikachu, it would probbably be a set pokemon and more than likely something you can catch on like route 1, so basically something like a pidgey or a rattata. I don't think you'll get a choice on your stater pokemon, I think the choice will be how you build your team afterwards.
