Pokemon events? Notifications?

Out of the three Kalos starter pokemon, which one do you like best?

I was wondering where I could get notifications for pokemon events (Any game, I have Pokemon X) so I could acquire some, or at least someplace where I could at least buy them if I'd missed an event date.

Plus I have some credit in my eshop account and was hoping for some good game suggestions under $30.
And I've posted my friend code in the friend codes forum on this site if anyone is interested in joining me for some pokemon battles and trade.

Thanks for your suggestions in advance, and I want to thank others for the 3DS care suggestions, I got myself some screen protectors and some extra styluses.
 
Just check this page daily or use the PGL. There are currently three running.

I've always used Serebii too. It's a good site.
 
Honestly, I don't really keep in touch with that stuff much. When I'm looking for events, I just use Seribii
 
I try to, but I wanted to keep up w/them especially this year, since 20th anniversary and all.
 
Thanks guys, I'll check it out, Since I'll be getting Sun and Moon when it comes out, who wouldn't want to miss the opportunity.
