Haven't you thought about what made darkrai want to put the world into eternal darkness or why (apparently) your player was the only human in the future? This game's plot has more holes than diglett's cave(please do not take that badly).

I don't have much of a theory, I'm not too into that, but perhaps more than just you travelled to the future. Just like you lost your memory apart from being human, maybe the other humans lost ALL their memory, just woke up as a pokemon, and went about their lives. If Grovyle never showed up, you have no physical evidence of being human, just a weird deja vu ability and memories. Or they were found by Darkrai, because I think (and it's been a while, I might be wrong) but he mentions that you caused a lot of problems for him, and that he's been trying to get rid of you. He may have killed off or erased the memories of other human turned pokemon.

I remember that game. I stopped because for some reason I found it so depressing after you time travel or whatever and the world is all dark, kind of the post game story. The beginning, where everything was happy, was one of the best games I've ever played, but the ending.... . So sad. I guess darkrai wanted to put the world into darkness because he likes dark. Maybe he wanted to rule the world and it would e easier to do if it was dark, cuz hes a ghost and what not

Hmm...seeing how we ruined everything Darkrai tried to accomplish maybe Darkrai is actually Giovanni, seeing that he is the main super villain in Pokémon and we are maybe some decedent of Red and he sees Red in us...that's why....I don't know my theory is kind of weird.​

Hmm..well, Darkrai has dark in his name, after all. He's just been evil since he was realeased. But maybe he just didn't care who you were. He just wanted everyone to suffer and live in a world of darkness. And, in the world of Pokemon, there are no humans. So it wasn't like he was the only one, he's just the only one in the world of Pokemon. Unless Darkrai has managed to destroy the entire human race..

Yeah its weird to deal with time "so wibbly wobbly timey wimey" Its no suprise Darkrai wants to destroy you but i don't really get the intention of it . But the game was really a good game and sure enough to get you all emotional I like the story as well as the gameplay too
