It seems like Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are going to be 3.2 GB each. That's 26,176 blocks when converted to Nintendo's way of measuring data for the Nintendo 3DS.

People with the 2GB SD card that comes with the regular 3DS wouldn't be able to download the game from the eShop unless they purchase a larger SD card ><

Are you going to buy the game digitally?

I think I'll pass buying on digital atm, because I've already pre-ordered for the physical versions long before the reveal of the file size. But still, if Sun and Moon file sizes are THIS big, I think this would mean Sun and Moon will be filled with tons of content even more than X, Y and ORAS combined, given that it's about as big as likes of Bravely Default.

Lol, I never buy digital major games, because if something happens to your nintendo ID account, your doomed. Better to buy a hard copy. Unless they have like, a 50% off sale, then i'll consider buying a digital. The turnoff is that it's so huge... Good thing I have a 32 GB card, but at those rates, even that'll go by fast

I think that this is a good size because it always bothers me when I see someone with a digital copy of pokemon. Every system has a must have core game, and to me that's the pokemon games. You have to have the cover for that game. I love pokemon cover art. And disk art. And when the game comes out, who wants to spend hours downloading it, just stick in the disk and start what's probably the best region yet.
Large download size means big game, so hopefully a long game too.

I've already pre-ordered the steelbook for sun so I wont get the digital copy.

But that's intresting to see the size though, bigger game means more stuff. So longer story prehaps...? I know there's all these new features like the islands, plaza thing amd so on, so that'll make the game bigger obviously:p

But yeah, bigger file size also means longer download time, I don't have enough patience to wait around for it to finish while I could be playing instead:p

Wow. I was thinking about getting the digital download for Pokemon Sun and I looked up the average block usage of a Pokemon DS game take('cause this was a few months ago) and it was around 14,000. I thought that was pretty big(I usually get the hard copy of the game, i.e. game card) But 24k! That seems like a lot to me.(I know almost nothing about digital storage or MH4U[if you've read my other posts]) :p

I'm probably going to buy physical after this. I generally buy physical anyways. I was planning on getting it digital just for getting earliest. Welp...

This is actually a good thing, since we can now expect a LOT of content from the game. Gen 6 had quite a large amount of content, but this one should be even greater.
