Yes! That's right, :singing: It's not only possible to gain EXP by defeating a Pokemon in battle. Pokemon can also gain EXP when the trainer catches a wild Pokemon.

What are your thoughts about this?

Mmm... I think it would be great if all pokemons wins EXP.

I think they are trying too hard to innovate. The old experience system was good enough to me.

Give every Pokemon the EXP Share item and that'll be possible.

I'm okay if they dropped gaining EXP for catching Pokemon, but I also read that if you use the EXP Share item, the Pokemon that is participating in battle will receive 100% EXP while the Pokemon in the party will receive 50% EXP. I'm not sure if the Pokemon in your party will be required to hold the item or if EXP Share changed a bit :

Additionally, the item Exp. Share will provide experience to all Pokémon in the party, not just the one that participated in battle. The participating Pokémon will receive 100% of the total EXP, while non-participating Pokémon will receive 50% each.

They are just overdoing it now. But then again I guess that there was a demand to make grinding easier.

Might be just a rumor, but I heard somewhere that you could choose settings to like easy or more difficult mode so I wonder if the getting exp while capturing wild pokemon is only for easy mode? Since they did that in b2/w2 maybe they'll still keep it...

Now I remember... There is a super training mode right?

According to certain reviewing websites, in Pokemon X and Y you also gain EXP for catching Pokemon so this means no more killing innocent wild souls for the sake of EXP, we can just catch them, provide them with shelter and gain our fair share of EXP.

Is this something interesting for you or do you not actually care about EXP.? I most certainly do and it's amazing. :D

You don't kill Pokemon, you Faint them. Risinglink logic right there ;)

Fainted Pokemon Die if they don't go to the Pokemon Center! and I don't think wild Pokemon have the luxuries to goto a Poke Center to get themselves healed. They just faint and lay there until their bodies rot and stuff! :O

Faint means sleep for a while or get knocked out, so Pokemon wake up from fainting and they are probably fully healed again.

Really? So, why do we have to take our Pokemon to the Poke Center, Why don't our Fainted Pokemon Just magically "Sleep" it off and get healed! :sneaky:
Wild Pokemon faint and then they're eaten by other Pokemon xD

Why would Pokemon eat other Pokemon? I mean it's cannibalistic so they wouldn't eat each other and the Pokemon center machine is probably a faster way of healing them like giving them recovery items so they could be healed up quickly.

Pokemon don't heal themselves at least not the ones in our parties. Carnivores Pokemon eat other Pokemon because lets face it there aren't any other animals to be eaten. Even Steaks and meat stuff shown in the Anime is of Pokemon because lets face it, there aren't any ANIMALS!!

I think its a good idea because sometime if I see a strong Pokemon and I say I wanna defeat it for Experience Point or I think to myself that I wan't that Pokemon on my Team or I just wanna expand my Pokedex and catch 'em all :D, I should catch it, it isn't really a much have feature that if you don't have it your screwed, that kinda stuff. I think they are adding more stuff to the game to make it more enjoyable and easier to use (I guess). At least now i'm kinda motivated to catch 'em all, anyone else here motivated that they can level up Pokemon by catching wild Pokemon.
