Here is my information because I have both (I have Pokemon X but it is almost the same):

A good game with nice story.

My opnion: ORAS!

You forgot to add that X and Y has every single pokemon available in the game and ORAS only has some X and Y and some pokemon from other regions, then you have transfer or trade from X or Y which is slightly annoying. I recommend ORAS because of new storyline and new moves/megas/abilities which gives you a better choice in competitive battling!

For competitive battling, definitely ORAS, because of Move Tutor moves that are not available in XY, as well as more common OU legends such as Heatran, Landorus, Latias, Latios and many others being available in ORAS but not in XY.

The fact that I don't have ORAS has lead to me having to trouble people by trading my XY Pokemon to their ORAS to teach them move tutor moves So if you are competitive, I'd recommend ORAS

I think that both of the games are nice but Pokemon ORAS is just more of a better choice because of the better things and features the game has to offer you . In general Pokemon ORAS is better although Pokemon XY are also cool too and has its own features

Oh yeah that reminds me! The "new features" are really awesome because in prevoius games, you couldn't even controlled how you looked and on multiplayer, it was randomly selected for you. Now you can make your very OWN character and collect clothing which is really cool! Not only does it display in mulitplayer, but in every place in the game and battles as well! It is awesome but they removed that in ORAS

i would recommend pokemon omega ruby because it has lots more mega evolutions and you can soar around the sky with latias or latios. you can also catch more legendary pokemon and has way better graphics than pokemon ruby gen 1

I prefer oras mainly because it's slightly more updated and better for competitive battling terms. XY was still a pretty good game and customizing the trainers was interesting. I still Oras was a better game and i really liked the delta episode.

Even though I like both games, I would go with ORAS. It's like an upgrade from XY, plus once you finish the game there's a post-game episode/mission, which is pretty cool. The new features are great and really helpful, good example being the DexNav that helps you not only chain Pokemon but see if the Pokemon has any IVs, Hidden Abilities, Special Moves and the Level. There are two Daycare locations, which is also pretty helpful with breeding and leveling up. As for competitive, it has everything you need. Another thing is the legends from various regions, which is another thing we didn't have in XY. The only thing I would like ORAS to have is the customization just like XY, each character was unique and it was pretty fun, imo.
