With Pokken tournament coming around the corner, I think it's fair that we start seeing some stuff around this game. And with the Direct today, that's what we saw! We learned a bit more as to what this game is going to have when we get it on March 18th. The Direct today featured some information covering this game as well. We learn a bit of in depth information on some of the playable characters, custom avatars, and the Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card deal. Here's what we were shown today:

-Ranking system, players start off facing simple opponents, and get more challenging ones as they move up in ranks.
-Customizable Avatars, you can spend PG (Pokken currency) to purchase new gear and looks for your avatar.
-Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card available to Day 1 buyers.

They also featured 3 Pokemon to help players determine which play style they might like to use in the game:

-Lucario is shown as a ranged character who shoots aura based projectiles to attack opponents. Then when Burst Mode (Mega Evolution) occurs, you can easily go up to opponents to deal massive damage, or to perhaps end the battle for good.
-Machamp is shown to be played more up close and personal. He has rapid fire punches and throws that can do massive damage to opponents, and his Burst Mode is shown as him turning Red and just swarming the opponent in thousands of punches, somewhat deadly.
-Gengar is for your average troll player. Gengar can disappear and reappear to attack opponents and confuse them. Gengar can also summon punches and other ghostly moves out of nowhere to attack opponents. His Burst Mode is also a Mega Evolution where he is shown basically dropping the opponent into a void which is shown in his mouth, rather distrubing. But hey it's Gengar, so I guess that's normal.

One last thing they mentioned is that there will be an Early Access Tournament which will be live on March 17th on Twitch. Great way to round up hype.

I think this game is probably something I've been most hyped for since last year, and I am so happy to finally get a chance to play it after waiting so long. I really want to play as Chandelure, too bad they didn't feature this in the Direct. But that just makes all the more fun in learning the character!

So as many of you know, today is the release day of Pokken Tournament for Wii U! I'm currently downloading the game as I type this, and I believe people who went to buy a physical copy get a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card for free! Why didn't I buy physical? Well my local GameStop was already fresh out of Pre Orders and I really wanted the game on Day One so this was my next solution, plus my friend is getting physical with the amiibo card and he'll let me borrow it so it's fair :p

How do you feel about this game? I'm honestly very excited right now, I haven't really bought many games for my Wii U so getting a new one for me makes my heart pump faster :p

this game looks like it will be the best of the best pokemon has released. I only wish they made it for 3ds XL or New 3ds XL

I got it today, but I'm still at the office so I can't play it yet.

I'm a bit excited and I truly hope I'll like it.

I don't enjoy fighters but I LOVED Tekken 3. When I heard it was made by some people behind Tekken, I couldn't at least try it, right?
