Alright, so this has started to really annoy me and in searching for help.

I recently recieved animal crossing new leaf for Christmas, but haven't been able to play it due to my 3ds making a pop sound whenever I turn it on and then it turns immediately off. I know what the problem is but was wondering if anyone knew the right screw driver to remove the back 7 screws, as mine seem to be jammed in there.

Any (useful) advice would be greatly appreciated

Which 3DS do you have? Depending on the console the type of screwdriver may be different >.>

Don't listen to him, the 3ds screw are all 3 pronged, which basically means you need a new screwdriver because no one makes them like that except Nintendo, because they are afraid we might... Who knows what we might do. Any ways, you can google "Nintendo repair screwdriver" and it will come up... I think... Or you can just search for it on eBay. Let me look up the details... "Tri-wing opening repair tool". Here are the links to it on amazon/eBay. Wish you luck!

Except they do make screwdrivers like that. You aren't seeing what I'm asking. Because I know eye glasses have the type of screws needed and I already know a triple 000 Phillips screwdriver is required.

1. I don't know how that is being salty >.>

2. My question is still, where can I find the screwdriver >.<

You'll need a size #00 screwdriver to remove the back panel and screws. Where you'll find one is a hardware store. I found mine at ACE hardware in the check out line.

From what you've described the popping sound may be the battery and the battery is bad or there's a short somewhere in the electrical system. I personally would see if Nintendo or local repair is worth it or even replacing the system or battery. The Nintendo 3DS batteries are about $14.99 (US dollars) and much cheaper than replacing the system or a possible repair.

As stated earlier, I already know the cause of the problem, but thank you for clarifying the actual type of screw driver

Also, be careful when messing with the tiny screws...They strip incredibly easily especially the screws Nintendo uses. I wonder if it's a security feature or are cheap to keep cost down. Either way please use caution.

I've already attempted and know about the screws already. Hence why I said 7 and not the usually 9, since two of them are already easy to get out
