Nice to 'eat you
Towns Folk
Take a look at what i found on pokemon database ^^
its really cool how fire and water won't work against these two pokemon

but i was wondering what would happen is they're both on field at the same time ? i would like to see what happens XD, i'll try to post a video too if i can

Primal Groudon's ability is Desolate Land, which turns the sunlight extremely harsh. It prevents the weather being changed, whether by moves like Rain Dance or abilities like Drizzle. It also blocks all Water-type attacks, which evaporate in the harsh sunlight. Groudon's new signature move that was previously hinted at is calledPrecipice Blades.

Primal Kyogre's ability is Primordial Sea, which creates heavy rain. It prevents the weather being changed, whether by moves like Sunny Day or abilities like Snow Warning. It also blocks all Fire-type attacks, which fizzle out in the heavy rain. Kyogre's new signature move that was previously hinted at is called Origin Pulse.

I think they'll just cancel each other out, or combine. It's too unfair competitively to have only the first Pokemon that was sent out to have their ability. Maybe if it was switched in, but not at the start of the battle.

yeah thats what i thought >.< but it would be cool if they combine to make like something new

Forget about one more legendary that rumours to had a primal evolution also, Rayquaza. If those ability is epic how about Rayquaza ability..afterall in story Rayquaza is the one who stop both legendaries ,kyogre and groudon from fighting..maybe Rayquaza ability is more inferior with it own signature move..

This was known for quite a while. And it's said that their abilities don't cancel each other out. As in, whichever one's ability works first basically wins the battle between the two. I suspect that since Rayquaza is hinted to have a Primal form or something, it might have the only ability able to stop the unstoppable weathers of Groudon and Kyogre.
Either way, A lot of Über weather teams are going to be using these two...

It's fine. You're helping the information spread, which is always a good thing. ;)
This post helps those of us who didn't know earlier.

It'll certainly be interesting to use one in battle. I wonder if the move Thunder would have a much greater effect when fighting together with Kyogre.

Wouldn't Air Lock (Rayquaza's ability) stop them?

Both of these abilities do sound OP though. Either way, using a water-type move in sun and a fire-type move in rain are bad ideas anyway because their attack power gets cut in half.

Not only are both OP, but it looks like Mega Groudon's has much more immediate use given that it has a 4X weakness to water while Kyogre has a resistance to fire. I know though that it helps in switching in and whatnot but in terms of countering groudon it means that water and grass attacks can't be used against groudon. Kyogre just helps when switching in pokemon like ferrothorn or scizor from what I can see.

It can't be stopped by another Pokémon's drought or drizzle. So I doubt it can be stopped by regular air lock. Maybe It'll be upgraded or something? I honestly just want to find out already. xD

Drought/Drizzle changes the weather while Air Lock negates it. The way I imagine it, Desolate Land is just insanely strong sunlight and Primordial Sea is the heaviest rain you'll experience in a Pokemon game, so moves such as sunny day and rain dance (or Drizzle/Drought abilities) which aren't like Desolate Land and Primordial Sea can't cancel them out.

Cloud nine negates whether too. But that doesn't mean Golduck is going to be doing the same thing as Rayquaza, does it?
