Does anyone remember the Playstation Slim? Would the PS Slim be a PlayStation 2?

Slim is a label used really often for Playstation: there are the PS2 Slim, the PSP Slim which is basically the 2000 model, the PS3 - and this one even had a Super Slim version, the one with the 12 Gb hard disk - and finally the PSVita Slim, the LCD model produced after the first version with the OLED screen.

To add on to this, every PlayStation console released so far has at least gotten a slim revision. But to answer your question, no a PS1 slim isn’t a ps2. A ps2 slim is a ps2, just slightly different physical design

If by PS Slim you meant simplified PlayStation, I don't think it of being PS2, but as PSone to differentiate it with original variant. Not to mention that there are simplified version of PS2 too, and just like others said, Sony tend to redesign the consoles over time.
