PS PS2: Green light shows for 1 second, then back to red...

So I want to get this PS2 Slim working, it says I need a 8.5 volt plug. The problem is that I have no plug that is 8.5 volts. I plug in this battery charger that is 200-240 or something like that, but when I plug it in and press on, the battery's colour turns green to red, and the PS2 becomes red to green. But after a second, the battery charger turns back to green and the PS2 turns red. Weird... Is there a way to fix this or should I stick to the big PS2?

Is there any 8.5V AC Adapters that are used by any other company, remember, I live in the UK
