Psycho Pass

I was expecting something totally different when I heard the name of this anime. It's a police/detective anime and the guns were making me iffy at first because I wasn't feeling to watch that type of anime, but I decided to give it a chance. I'm glad I did and I'm currently at episode 21 if I remember correctly.

Although the anime doesn't reel you in after you watch the first one or three episodes, you'll soon discover how good it is later down. Better than good, fantastic. The storyline is great, the characters are interesting once you understand them, and the action is there. The trailer below should catch your attention :

This anime is NOT for you if you :

• are really, really young. It doesn't have extremely bad stuff. It does have a lot of smoking, alcohol, etc.
• can't stand watching people get murdered (and sometimes brutally).
• want a lot of action ONLY and don't care about characters, storyline, etc.
• impatient - wanting to skip the introduction and some important parts before the real excitement occurs.

I recommend this anime. I've been watching episodes non-stop at night.

Haha I was thinking that I was the only one on the forum that watched this anime ^^ this is one of my favourites I've always been a fan of detective manga and anime and pyscho pass incorporates action very nicely into tis and I finished it in a week XD it was that good !!! This will remain as one of my all time favourites andia can't wait for season 2 ^^

Glad to see some other people are watching this. I watched the first season a while ago and ended up staying up all night to finish it. I definitely recommend this if you're into darker, slower paced psychological action shows.
To be honest I was a bit worried about the second season, but so far I haven't been disappointed. Its great to see how Akane has grown and I'm excited to see her future exploits.

Well it's the first day of the new year XD time to start watching psycho pass season 2 XD

I'm not every up to date XD

So I just finished Season 1, here are my two cents.

Pros:
- Incredible setting - The real highlight of the entire show was the city and the world that the people live in. The society and the sybil system were intriguing and pretty cool.
-Great villain - Makashima, till almost the end, was a superb villain and really pulled the show along.
-Good progression and growth - Akane really grew as the story moved forward in a very plausible manner, she started as a rookie and eventually became a pretty strong character. The side characers also grew quite a bit, especially Gino.
-Decent action - The action for the most part was solid, well animated and stylish
-Solid, if somewhat cliche, characters - The other characters, including Kogume the second main protaganist, were passable and pushed the story along, though they were slightly cookie-cutter in their personalities.
-Music - The music was truly incredible throughout, something that made me rewatch scenes again and again.
-Interesting cases - The actual detective work itself was very interesting and a lot of fun.

-Kaguri's death - Kaguri's death seemed completely pointless to me. His death achieved virtually nothing and barely had any effect on the entire series.
-The weird pace shift in the middle - In the middle Makashima kills Akane's friend, but then story jarringly shifts to Yayoi's backstory. That was both weird and unnecessary. To make things worse, the characters for the most part just brushed off the incident and continued on as if nothing happened.

All in all it was a lot of fun and I'll watch sesason 2 with high expectations

I finished season 2. Quite a good season, and the ending was way better than I expected. My only gripe with the series(and this is a really minor one) is that the character designs are a little too unoriginal, but honestly there's no way to get past that now with the number of anime out.
