in the legend of zelda weve seen zellda grow up from a little girl, to a mutrue adult. but does this mean zelda is no longer a princess, but a queen. i say no. sure ever since twilight princess weve seen zelda have power over the hyrule citizens, and weve seen how queen like she is, but shes still a princess. and i know why. in order for her to be queen her to be queen shed have to be the ladt remaining blood of the royal family, but what about the king. in oot we hear of his presince, but we never see him. same thing in a link to the past. and in wind waker the king of hyrule was links ship. so the king is obviously thier. and every zelda has a new generation of charecters. well other then ganon, since somehow hes always being resurected. so this means the king also changes as well. and lets not forget hes the king. he has alot of responsibility. he could be off to neiboring kingdoms for treatys, or fighting in a war. and in his absence his daughter, princess zelda, has to take over for him. so point in case, zelda is still a princess for a reason. oh and more proof on the king not dead thing. if he was dead, dont you think thier would be some mention of his death. i mean hes the king. no one would just ignore his death. and if he died thierd be some memorial for him, even a statue. but no, no one mentions anything close to the death of him. so zeldas still a princess, not a queen.

I think you answered your own question...

On the subject of him going to neighboring kingdoms, Princess Zelda would be in charge while he's away (or the queen, but there's never been mention of a queen.)

well exactly. even while shes gone she wouldn't be named queen, because she can over rule the king while hes still alive. shed still be known as princess zelda, shed just be in charge in his absence. If the king had died then bu rule and the last royal family member she would be crowned queen zelda. but for all we the gamer know the king could still alive in the games. he might not. but we dont have proof of either. exept the fact that no one acknowledges his death, so thats some proof of it.

Zelda would be in charge when he's away. :p silly you just answer our own question. I just realized @Nanamine had said that so credit to him xD Also, as you stated, there's no proof of the king being online the games, so we can't tell. Does it even matter? Zelda is gonna end up getting kidnapped anyway. :sneaky:

but even if zelda is in charge, that still makes the king, well, the king. only in a kings death can a family member be named king or queen. take a look at robin hood. while the king was away on a crusade, his nephew was put in charge, atleast i think its his nephew. but he wasnt called king. he was called prince. so that proves that. shed still have the title princess, intile he had died. then that would make her queen. intile then shes just a princess.

prince john thats what his name was. but yes while he tricked the king to leave he became the ruler of england. but he wasnt called king john, but instead prince john. that proves my point.

Queen Zelda getting kidnapped doesn't make the story as romantic as Princess Zelda getting kidnapped. The end.

yes. but also calling her princess zelda is more correct then queen zelda. that is intile the king of hyrule is confirmed dead. when that happens then ill start complaining about her not being called queen

I don't know the rules for being queen, all the princesses I know are from Videogames or Disney, but maybe it's because of her age!? Maybe she's still to young to be called Queen.

Elsa's father and mother died, but she only became Queen when she reached the right age :cat:

huh, never thought of that. they never say her age. but in skyward sword she was like 17. and i think the right of age is like 18. like how anas 17 and elsas 18. that could be the reason as well.

It still feels like a more better idea for Zelda to be called Princess rather than Queen and it does really feel weird like in Zelda:Ocarina of Time , though the King was mentioned . We never got to see the king in that game . Yeah the King may be out doing some sort of business somewhere else but it doesn't really make sense because in Oot , the part where you see Impa taking away Zelda , what happened to the king ? Did he die ? So when you see Zelda grown up in Oot , you may as well call her the Queen , but it is still Princess Zelda

Zelda will (most likely) always stay a Princess, regardless of her age. The Legend of Zelda timeline has (for the most part) always kept it like that. Addressing Zelda as a queen feels sort of uncanny to me. Who knows, Zelda might be a queen in the next LoZ coming up in the future.

ocourse. but its still politicaly correct to call her princess. for one even though we dont know if the king of hyrule is still alive, if the king had died then wouldent the whole town still be moarning over the loss of thier king. and wouldent thier be atleast a statue for his momorial. and second since its more likly he left for buisness in neighboring kingdoms, then zelda will still be known as princess zelda. just like how prince john in robin hood was still known as prince john, not king john
