question about pokemon ultra sun/moon digital version speed

as in loading speeds , when playing offline or over wifi , is the digital version faster on a new 3ds?
i was thinking of playing through ultra sun digitally , since i beat ultra moon last year.
i was considering doing some wifi battles in pokemon ultra moon and or ultra sun , since i have not done any wifi battles since pokemon diamond and pearl.
since 2014 i watch youtube videos of wifi battles of various youtubers, which now includes some vitural youtubers while i breed in pokemon ultra moon , in anticipation for the next pokemon game to come out for switch after lets go pikachu and eevee.
so my ultra moon is physcial and my considered ultra sun would be digital , to be played on a new 2ds xl.
i was curious if the cart or the digital version is faster in loadimg times or if they are both the same speed .
 
Considering how well optimized Nintendo's hardware tends to be and the low-impact nature of the Pokémon games, (compared to, say, Super Smash Bros.) I'd say you're unlikely to find a significant difference between the two.
I've only played on N3DSXL, but I have played both digital and cartridge versions of the Pokémon games.
The New 3DS series might give you a slight improvement in load times, but as long as you're on official hardware they're not going to be very long anyway. Presumably digital games might load faster than cartridges as well, but again it's probably too short to notice.
In terms of wifi speeds, stability is a lot more dependent on your network than on Nintendo hardware.
TL;DR: it might be a little bit faster but you probably won't notice.
 
thank you. i was thinking the digital version would be faster offline than the cart , but not sure by how much , but with your info , it is safe to say it is not a big difference. glad to know that. i was hoping that this would be the case with offline speeds.

was curious since i heard some legendary pokemon being sent out in wifi battles causes some lag , thought maybe digital version lowers that lag a little at least

I've never seen that firsthand, but that's probably graphical lag since legendary Pokémon are bound to have flashy effects. In that case, the improvements in the N3DS might reduce visual stuttering by like 10% or something :hilarious:
Seriously, it's just not that much of a difference. That'd be the same between digital and cartridge versions, but if you turn the 3D mode off that would help.
 
Its not a big difference but the old versions of 3DS and 2DS are a bit slower. The newer 2DS and 3DS will be faster with the game got sure. Digital games are probably slightly faster but even if there is a difference its hardly noticeable.
 
i am aware of how slow the games are on older 3ds , especially in wifi battles , from watching duncankneedeep free for alls , especially when legendary pokemon are being used
 
my device is a new nintendo 2ds xl , i do not have acess to 3d and i have no 3d slider , but my japanese new 3ds has 3d , but i do not have pokemon game for that 3ds system
 
The 3D mode doesn't even work on those Pokemon GamesI think.
 
that is true. i only recall using 3d with mario kart 7 and rayman 3ds years ago.

Mario Kart 7's 3D is pretty cool, but I've only ever tried it once on a demo version of the game on a 3DS at a store.
