SSB for 3DS R.I.P Sora's chance in Smash

Well it's been a little while after the Nintendo Direct.Cloud was confirmed for smash.And we all know what this means...Cloud took Sora's possible place in Smash.Square Enix COULD of advertised Kingdom Hearts 2.9 but instead they added Cloud.I'm not the only one who voted Sora,Because Sora had lots of votes on the Reddit Fan Ballot (Which now I know Reddit is a 50-50 site).Cloud is more popular than Sora though.So I understand why Cloud made it.What is your opinions on this?Sora4Smash.jpg Cloud4Smash.jpg
 
Honestly, I much prefer Cloud's inclusion in Smash. Like you said, he's very popular than Sora and is pretty much well known since the days of Final Fantasy VII.
 
In my opinion, Sora should've been put in smash bros mainly because he's really well known but then again, I see why they would put Cloud cause he is more known than Sora because of Final fantasy
 
I don't think Sora's hopes for Smash are gone. He's not getting it in this game, but they did say they were going to use the results for future Smash games. Sora got a decent fanbase and with KHIII coming out that will only bring him more into the spotlight once again. So I wouldn't give up hope yet!

Future smash games? Do you have a source? I honestly find this hard to believe.
 
Pretty sure Iwata mention it in the April direct. Something along of the line of " Please understand that we cannot add everyone's suggestion at this time , however we will take everyone's suggestions for additional titles."

Of course there's going to be another Smash game as the series is too important for Nintendo not continue. They won't just toss away the suggestions since the ballot ended. It would be very stupid to have the whole ballot just for one person. There was about 1.8 million overall votes . That's a lot of suggestions, I'm sure they kept tabs on characters they would like to add. Sakurai did mention he was uncertain if he would work on the next title and that he would like a break from the series, but he also said he has a hard time letting it go. Nintendo will continue Smash with or without him, but ideally we want the guy to stick around as he's great at adding so much detail to the fighters.
 
I'll rant in a smaller font so as not to take up space.
Nintendo's best party-brawler is getting less and less Nintendo-y with every 3rd party player they introduce.
I may've voted for Allie/Vent from the Megaman ZX series, but I was really looking forward to Shante.
Maybe even Mona from the Wario-Ware series,
or a more classic Final Fantasy character, as Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Mario Sports mix had Ninja,
Black Mage and White Mage as selectable characters.
Ultimately, when offered to choose, I'd have chosen someone else instead.
 
I think they couldn't add Sora for DLC because of the Disney company disapproving.

My only question is , what is the criteria for picking Smash characters seeing as Sora was actually on a Nintendo console but Cloud was only planned for the 64 DD but was later transferred to the PlayStation. I mean one could argue that they have been releasing Final Fantasy games for the 3DS but none that he was the main protagonist for.

Sora would have been awesome X( I'm going to still hold onto the hope that they might end up putting hi int here later on, and who knows, maybe Roxas and Riku will join him. One can only hope. And I'm hoping a lot.

I am neutral in Sora being in Smash. The Smash art for Cloud was done by Nomura, AKA, the creator of Kingdom Hearts. And for a second, I thought Cloud was Sora. lol

I thought he looked more like the KH version of Cloud than the Final Fantasy version! Just those slight differences in the animation style can really make a huge difference XD I'm glad you wrote that or else it was going to driving me crazy.
