alright, well if you have seen my previous posts and writings about resident evil revelations, then you probably saw me say i finished the game's infernal mode on the wii u and the 3ds hell mode as well (which was hard but not quite insanity as infernal), i recently got around to playing no escape and immediately noticed how much more balanced it was concerning enemy placement and spawning and i wanted to share my thoughts on this along with the original's infernal mode
if you played infernal on any of the console versions of revelations 1, then the first thing you probably noticed was the hallways and most rooms (even in first episode) was absolutely flooded with monsters to the point where it simply becomes a mess. While it is fairly simple to get through infernal by dodging and avoiding battle as much as possible (skip the extra ones, only kill what you have to for continue), some places were so crowded it made it difficult to know where you were going. Note: You must skip almost all of these, its impossible to kill all of them and will destroy your ammo reserves if you even try to. I recommend running away as much as possible to save ammo and grab any pickups you can safely get (ideally without getting caught, getting caught by a typically lesser enemy like normal ooze puts you right into danger state) for best results. While this was still do-able, all of these enemies made in-between deaths very common for most. Fortunately I still managed to beat it even through the mess lol
While no escape was still designed to be brutal, it was nice that capcom didnt enemy spam us to oblivion here (i have a feeling that wouldve been even messier in revelations 2) which i feel balanced things out more. Both infernal and no escape were obviously brutal (although using the infinite rocket launcher on no escape can make it feel more like casual, we couldnt do this on the original and being able to abuse this was pretty funny tbh). The monsters still had about the same strength as in the original, and we didnt have a giant cluster in numerous areas the way we did on infernal. While I do love both of the games a lot, i appreciate capcom's attempt here to balance the hardest mode a little better.
