so with the recently (best) character Roy from melee joining smash 4 people are already quite used to him since he is similar to his melee self. Here is a little guide for you new Roy players.
Nuetral air is your friend. Try using dashing and using this move by tap jumping and fast falling. Using this right can lead to powerful combos and juggles. For example, you could follow up with his up special at high percentages. Or, down throw to nair to forward air. Try experimenting with him and learn unique techniques.
Roy's strength lies in the base of his sword and weaker the more out it goes. So unlike Marth (which he is not a clone of) you want to go up close and personal. Charge right at them and use the nair to space your self. If you manage to break there shield get up close and charge your neutral B as much as you can. This has the potential at one shotting them. Release it AS SOON as you see them SHAKE THEIR HEAD. Not doing so will let them roll away or grab you. You can also do this if they are recovering. Jump and do this and if they go behind you, side smash the other way. That is all good luck!
