Ok, so this is something that has gotten on my nerves for a very, very long time.
RWBY.
I am getting so sick of it, it hurts. I don't know if anyone here watches it. And If you are like, a hyper mega fan I would just suggest you stop reading this now, so you don't hate me. This is just my opinion, and I wanna know if I'm the only human ever to feel this way.
It honestly isn't even that I have a problem with the show.
Yeah, I think it's a very mediocre plot with dumbly named characters and even stupider weapons.
I mean come on, the main character wears nothing but red and black, is named Ruby Rose and and uses a Scythe that can turn into a sniper rifle (EDGY MUCH), like thats so much edge it literally kills me to think about it.
Ok that's enough of that, I just wanna know. WHY in the mother of god do people call it an anime?
It is not. And here is why.
An anime is drawn. This is not drawn, yes it is made in a anime stylized program, MMD (Miku Miku Dance), but it was in no way drawn up.
Imagine if I took MMD, and used the models for Anna and Elsa and made a video and put it on Youtube and called it "Frozen 2".
Does that make it a Disney movie? Well, the models I used were in the style of the movie.
But no, it doesn't!
Second, it was not published through any type of anime publisher.
And third, it was in no way, ever touched by a Japanese person. Its true that American's, even though it's rare, can make anime or manga . However, you have to have a lot of artistic talent and go through the right channels. it's not easy.
RWBY Is a web series. It started out on Youtube. Have you ever known an anime that started out as Youtube videos??
If people could just accept that it is a web series I'd be fine.
Calling it anime is an insult to the anime industry, and to all the hard work and talent that goes into real anime.
The fact that it is sold on DVD's, it was on Netflix, and they make merchandise for it hurts me so much...
Yes, work did go into RWBY, but no matter what, you have to admit it will never be a real anime.
