Here are some of the notable features:
  • You switch from pyra to mythra using down B
  • Their moveset is basically the same except for specials
  • Mythra is basically faster than pyra but less powerful. She can also jump higher
  • Mythra's roll can be used to slow down time for a really short while and it also reduces damage she takes by half with no knockback
  • You can choose which character to start out with by pressing Y when selecting the character
  • Pyra's side B acts as a projectile. And Mythra's down B acts as a projectile too
  • The stage has moving parts.
  • You get 16 music tracks in total which can also be played on gaur plains
  • The spirit board has 11 spirits total of which 2 are legend spirits
  • There are 3 monster hunter mii costumes and the last costume is arthur from ghosts n goblins

Nice. Figured Mythra would essentially be akin to a lightweight Pyra, nice to see that's actually how it it works, I'll watch the video later to get a better general idea of the differences and playstyles of each. After all, this might be the first DLC I'm actually interested in, though I'll admit I'm beginning to wonder if it's really worth it to start up Smash Bros again simply for a DLC fighter.

Also,

Don't you mean Mythra's side special? From what you've said, down special is transformation for both, so I can't see them adding any attributes or anything to that. Plus, it might be annoying if transformation abilities have secondary abilities like that... but, again, I'll need to watch the video myself. I've got high hopes for how they handle these new fighters.

However, I'm still a little irked they decided to use a transformation and didn't make them echo fighters instead, even if it fits game lore. Despite the abundance of counters, I still think it would've been cool to give them some, it's practically a staple for swordfighters at this point.

Ohhh yeah. I mean mythra’s up B acts as a projectile. Not down-B. My bad.

That sounds interesting. So is it a recovery skill, still, or an attack like Ness and Lucas' up specials? For the side of the fighter who's otherwise more mobile than her counterpart, lacking a recovery skill entirely would be strange.

Suppose I've got enough time to watch the video now, but I'm tired, so I'll be lazy and ask you directly instead, I suppose How long's the video, anyway? I have a short attention span.

It's like robin's recovery. Projectiles shoot downward when she recovers upwards. The video's 36 minutes.

im not a experienced player of smash but pyra remind me of byleth in terms of power and her movemnt speed ,while mythra remind me of zero suit samus in terms of movement speed and attack speed.
mythra remind me a little of shulk and the fire emblem fighters before byleth when it comes to her counter ability.
where the counter ability reminds me of greninja down b mat block counter ability but with the movement of doging rather than blocking attacks like most counters in smash have done up to this point.
transform speed of pyra and mythra is faster than zelda and shiek of smash melee.
from my eye they look like characters easy enough to understannd and play and the intended ploy of the higher ups at nintendo that call most if not all the shots on who gets in smash other than the game publishers that owns the ip of which the characters are from in which the character is a playable advertisement for aa game , typically a game that is already out or is coming out soon on switch works as there is people who might consider buying the xenoblade chronicles 2 game on switch after the fact.
both girls seem like characters that a new player to smash ultimate would give a try , as from my view heavy characters are quite intimidating to learn the game with but lighter and fast movers like zero suit m pikachu and fox are easier to get used to the game with

Come to think of it this is really weird. Melee had Sheik and Zelda be the same character. Brawl had Pokemon Trainer as three nerfed Pokemon. Smash 4 had Charizard only and Zelda and Sheik separate. This game has them the same as Brawl but buffed Trainer AND we get another character swap so they are inevitably going to split up someday to cause confusion and outrage.

I'm only watching Sakurai play the character and dang she doesn't look fun at all. Projectile sword and counter for range. Really slow compared to Pit and really average range compared to Min Min. Very bulky team I'd say. They thicc! That's some thicc chicks!

Well yes, pyra is slow. But mythra is super fast. Like her tilts and aerials have like no endlag.

one character is all about high damage dealing.
where as the other is all about being more nimble.
possible they be split in the future and also possible they stay like this.
aside from updates to game for stability and buffs and nerfs to characters , after the last 2 characters are released it seems likely that smash ultimate will not have any more major updates or content coming to it , maybe outside of new spirit board events.

All I saw from Sakurai player her was some smashes and side specials. I know the swapping makes her unpredictable in that sense but as a swordie with no combos besides maybe throws is not a big deal as far as I'm concerned. Those side specials and recoveries might be a pain to react to though unless you are expecting it.
