My GS4 has served me well for the past two years, but now the battery is starting to have lots of problems, it dies quickly and randomly powers off when using certain apps. In fact I went to check how long the battery would last when uncharged and I got this:

.-.
Anything that can improve battery life? I'm gonna upgrade this summer so I don't plan on buying another battery for it... just want it to last longer.

I think you know the basics of how to save battery such as turning off gps/wifi/data when not needed and using power saver mode right?

It might be an app that is running in the background all the time. I remember I downloaded this game one time and then when I woke up the next day, my phone was like at 20% ( it was 80% the previous day ) I had closed the game and not played it, but it still ran in the background and killed battery. So I uninstalled. ;-; My phone got better after that.

Also, if you charge your phone a lot, and keep it on charge after it's at 100%, the battery gets worse.

I don't keep lots of apps running in the background and my phone doesn't charge past 100%. I have no idea why else it would die so quick, it says the screen eats the most battery but I always keep the brightness low .-.

Maybe screen timeout is like on 10 minutes or something. That's all I got >.<'

Well, all I can do is keep charging it every 2 or 3 hours and make it last for another month, then once I get the upgrade I'll be more careful with the battery and try not to let it die as quickly.

I had battery problems with my Note 3 too, especially when brightness was at max and even when my phone was always in my pocket (without me using it), simply because the home button on the face of the phone can be pressed just when you walk, waking up your phone and using battery because of the screen.

What I did was just disable the "wake" action for the face button (requires root).

The Galaxy S4 is notorious for having issues like this. One of the major issues with the phone was the antenna. If you're having this issue now, then the odds are that you're pretty much going to need to get a new phone. Otherwise, I would recommend backing up your data and performing a reset. Make sure you're running the latest version of Android.
