Save the World free being delayed to 2019

To be honest, I kinda knew this was coming.

Fortnite: Save the World was originally supposed to be a free game in 2018, but according to Epic Games, that doesn’t seem like a reality anymore. Epic recently made a tweet about how the game isn’t fully finished yet, so they’re delaying the free release until 2019. However, to compensate players for their wait, they’re offering 50% off on all of their founder’s packs.

I’m probably gonna try to pick up at least the standard edition of the game, cause I’m not waiting until 2019 to try it out. Are you disappointed that Save the World won’t be free this year? Are you planning on getting a founder’s pack for half off?

As a person who has owned Save the World since february this year, and is in Twine Peaks, I'm pretty glad this is something that is happening. The game is already filled with a lot of leechers, traders, and other bad players and I don't want more players to fuel that problem. The game is also nowhere near finished yet and will take some serious time for it to be finished. I'm also really glad of this because I don't have to hear about people crying for Save the World to go free right now so they could get free vbucks. Glad Epic is sending this message out.

It was also pretty expected, the 2nd part of the Canny Valley Story is releasing soon and the game isn't near close to done, so I doubt they would want to release a somewhat unfinished game.

Honestly though, Save the World feels a LOT more like a premium game then a free game, and that's gonna end up changing when/if it ever goes free. I really don't want it becoming free, even though I'm one about "There needs to be more free games that aren't just all about money", a premium game going free, some major changes are gonna have to happen else they're gonna loose money just because of how many vbucks you get from it.

Also the fact that as soon as it becomes free there's gonna be a torrent of "OMG NEW GAME MODE AA" Or "Ah there's a new game mode, it's not battle royale though." and also the flood of kids then.

Are gonna give them money because they wanted it but were patiently waiting for the free version, but epic was lying the whole time.
Save the world won’t be free till they stop getting tons of money off it. In other words, once everyone owns the game, it will be free.
