There have to be at least one time in your life where a soundtrack scared you, either because of how the game is turning, either because the music is simply creepy or unsettling.

So, here we are, what are the musics who scared you in retro Nintendo games ? (From Gamecube to NES, and DS to... has the GameBoy scary musics ?)

YouTube links are also good if you want to share.

If you want to know about me, the scariest soundtrack was the tune that plays in Zelda Majora's Mask when there's 6 hours remaining before getting the bad end/game over of the game.

When I was 7, I found this soundtrack absolutely terrifying, with the land shaking, and all, generally, this music makes me stress, and there was my sister playing the game as if nothing is happening, while I was scared to death. Oh, and I was really scared when you must get a special mask that you get through a hard quest, because when you get it... only 3 hours remain.

Here's the music I am talking about:

Lavender Town anyone? Probably the most iconic creepy place in a happy cartoony Pokemon game. The there's Mt. Pyre (inside), Abandon Ship (little happier), Distortion World, Turnback Cave/Sendoff Spring/Newmoon Island/Old Chateau, Lost Tower/Full Moon Island/Eterna Forest/Solaceon Ruins, Ghost Houses in SMW/NSMB, N's Room (In B2/W2 it gets better/worse), Proto Man's Theme,
Here's more I didn't mention and I'm sure there a lot of those theme's out there.

The retro music that scared me the most was the last-level-of-world music in Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES. It was so fast, scary and doom-like with all the fire and stuff in the levels that it was genuinely frightening. Especially in that one level that never ends unless you take the right path which I could never find.

as a kid, I was terrified of the cave music in Zelda - A link to the past. Kinda lame, but oh well. xD

I was scared to even enter caves, haha. :p

The original Pokemon Blue music in Lavender town creeped me out, a LOT. The girl who says that there is a white hand on your shoulder also added to the effect. If you have heard about the Lavender Town syndrome, a few Japanese kids suicided because this music freaked them out :bag:

I think some of the most eeriest music featured in a Nintendo game is found in the Metroid series, which makes quite a bit of sense, considering it was inspired by the Alien franchise.

Drought from ruby and sapphire... oof

I would probably say the theme from Lavender Town in Pokemon Rad and Blue. I was a little creepy tone , but sounded really cool. With all the creepy pastas around Lavender Town turned that tone from cool to scary. I never when to that town very much as a kid because i didn't wan't to get Lavender Town syndrome.

Gigyas theme from Earthbound. Not the best thing to listen to at the age of 6. Especially when Nightmares occured more often. The track literally just makes me tremble every time I listen to it. It's even playing in my head as I type it. And it's storming outside right now. I feel like I'm about to die Dx.

I really didn't like the music soundtrack of the Shadow Temple from Ocarina of Time , or perhaps Bottom of the Well . It just seems so creepy not to mention the other creepy characteristics of the dungeon and the enemies . It really felt so scary and uncomfortable ;-;

When I was little it was the Bowser castle song in the Super Mario brothers game. I don't know why it scared me but I guess it was because fire was on the stage and the song song sounded eerie and would get loud.

The other one that scared me was Lavender Town though I'm sure we all agree that it was terrifying and seemed out of place for a happy go lucky game like Pokémon.
