Today the Department of Awesome Natural Phenomena presented a form of lightning we'd never heard of before: blue jet lightning. This is a form of upper-atmospheric lightning, believed to be electrically induced forms of luminous plasma. It's also known as a transient luminous event (or TLE) because the various types of electrical-discharge phenomena in the upper atmosphere lack several characteristics of the more familiar tropospheric lightning.

Due to the immense heat in the Outer Core, it is almost completely made of molten Iron and Nickel, which form the magnetic field around the Earth that protect us. Although the Inner Core is as hot as the surface of the Sun, and would normally cause the Iron and Nickel at the center to become molten, the immense pressure forces the molecules together and actually become a solid. Some of my science teachers didn't even know this.
