So a few days ago, I was downloading New Super Mario Bros 2 on my 3ds. I noticed that the game took about 2000 and the blocks left were somewhere around 15000. So if I download more games, memory would deplete rapidly. I have a 4 GB SD card and I want to upgrade it to 8 GB or 16 GB. I want to know how to transfer data between SD cards.

It's a simple copy-paste procedure.

13000 blocks should last you a while, but I recommend upgrading.

To transfer data, put the old sd card into a computer and highlight all the 3ds information and take it all out. Then take out the old sd card and put the new one in. Move all the 3ds information onto the new sd card.

Yeah I know that but I wasn't sure. If it would have corrupted my SD card, then Flipnote, Mario all disappear like smoke :(
(hey, this is a cool way to take backup of your SD card too)

You don't need to worry about the games, just your saves. Even if they get corrupted, you can redownload them from the eShop. The save files, though,

As long as ALL of the files in your previous SD card was copied to the new one, nothing might go wrong. I've tried upgrading to 16gb from the 4gb that came along with the unit. I thought there would be any notice on my home screen that my SD card was different and some stuff regarding data transfer but there was none. Just be sure to know the listed brands of SD cards that the 3ds supports. I'm using Imation tho.

Since spinner already posted the solution there is no need for me to another solution but same here i'm going to have to upgrade to something bigger like an 8 SD card since i only have a 2 GB one plus only little space is left.

I literally just upgraded my 2gb sd card to a 16 gb one like 30 minutes ago lol. The process was literally just copying and pasting the card data. I had about 900 mb of memory in my sd card and only took 1-2 minutes to trnasfer but might be longer or shorter depending on you computer and how much memory you card holds
