The Windows Update Assistant has a vulnerability to where an attacker could run programs with system privileges, possibly compromising your computer to any attack. Fixing the issue is quite simple, just uninstall the Windows Update Assistant, and wait until the next feature update. Until then, you should uninstall Windows Update Assistant if you are worried.

(From https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...10-display-a-notification-to-install-the-late)

If you want to uninstall it, just use the command C:\Windows10Upgrade\Windows10UpgraderApp.exe /ForceUninstall, or manually delete the folders C:\Windows\Updateassistant and C:\Windows10upgrade. If you cannot delete the folders, try ending the tasks UpdateAssistant.exe and Windows10UpgraderApp.exe.

I personally don't use Windows 10, but I saw this as an issue, and I needed to make sure that everyone was aware. I hope this doesn't freak you out, as the fix is quite simple, and doesn't take much time. Good luck with all of your devices!

It's nowhere near as bad as some other vulns windows have had. Nowhere near as bad as some vulns that are still unpatched on older windows systems.

It's classed as a 2 to say "exploitation less likely" because it's quite a specific set of things that need to happen to have it done. The main one being that the attacker needs to be a local, authenticated person to be able to even do this in the first place which is.... bloody difficult and not likely at all if you're just a random person on your home network (unless you really made the wrong person mad lol)

Honestly Windows 10 is awful. New bugs and issues every update, never had these problems with 7 or 8.

Cause the older windows versions never get updated. However, as a security person, I have to recommend windows 10 due to 7/8 running out of security support.

Like I said before, there's issues in 7/8 that have not been patched that are worse than this one mentioned here.
