SSB for Wii U Should I buy An amiibo?

Should I buy an amiibo. If so, which one? There is a LOT of character's in smash bros. that have a amiibo, but I want to know if I should buy one first, before I decide which amiibo. There is samus, dr. mario, link, sonic, captain falcon, mario, luigi, kirby, lucario, and many more! SO MANY CHOICES! I think there is even a pac-man amiibo as well!
 
You get some amiibos, if you're willing to play with them. Amiibos aren't just little collectibles, they have great in game value. Not just for smash, but they work in other games as well, such as MK8, Hyrule Warriors, even Splatoon (inkling amiibos). And if you only plan on using them for smash, I'd reccomend just getting your mains, I see no real reason to collect all 51 characters.
 
Ik they are for in the game, so I am gonna buy maybe 1 or 2 amiibos of my mains
 
If you're looking to get the most value in-game wise out of your amiibo, use this chart:

Otherwise, if you just like the figure, go for whichever you like! That's how I ended up with a Fox amiibo, I don't really like him in particular and haven't used him in anything but I love the figure itself.
 
If you have multiple amiibo-compatible games, go for it. For example, let's say you get a Mario amiibo. It's not only compatible with Smash, but now it can also unlock Amiibo Party in Mario Party 10, a costume in Yoshi's Wooly World, a small bonus in Hyrule Warriors, and that's just some of the popular games. Just watch out for scalpers.
 
If you want to collect them all go for it. Only if you have a lot of extra money to spend though since lots of them are no longer selling them and scalpers wo bought like all of them are now sellng them at ridiculous prices to people who didn't get them first. Of course if you just want some then I recommend getting your faavorite characters. Also it depends on if you have a use for them. If you do then sure get one but if you don't then I would'nt get one unless you really just want a few for collections sake. But hey in the end it's up to you.

But you can always buy a rare one, one won't hurt that much. Then there's the collecting factor, if you just want to catch 'em all, get anyone you want! This is the more dangerous way to go because it means you're spending money on every one of them, which will hurt your savings. Amiibos are nice figures with collectibility, and the start of a global war. #WWA hide your Rosalinas

.....It's a good idea to get amiibo for their functionality, and they're pretty detailed as well. If you want to keep your life savings though, it's probably wise to get a low amount.

I don't want to use them as a collectible, but more in smash bros. or a splatoon amiibo.

you can check out the reddits for whatever country you're in. I've checked my country's reddit a lot, and i've successfully hunted Ness and Shulk :D everybody on there keeps on updating on when a certain amiibo is in stock, so its pretty helpful.
