I see it's cheap compared to other 3DS games(at least in my country, dunno about the US), so I've been thinking of getting it.

How long would this game last? I've heard it's good but short, and I wouldn't want to finish it too quickly, so idk.

Also I have never played A Link With The Past, so the map will be new to me.

Also another question I have: Can you save whenever? Like in a middle of a dungeon?

Depends on how much of a Zelda gamer you are I suppose. If you've gone through some of the 2D titles (of which there are besides LttP) then you might find yourself playing it for about a few/2 days while if you've never played a 2D title before you could be going for more than that.

You don't really need to have played LttP to know your way around this game, but in fact I found that it tripped me up thinking back to that actually; there was an area in the game that I had tried to get past and only realised a few minutes later that I had neglected the trademark feature of this game to go across a gap.

I personally believe it's a good Zelda title despite its short playtime. While it's easy to get through the game's plot, they still leave you a bundle of side-quests and challenges to try out which if you're of the completionist kind or at least trying to gather as much cool items/hearts then that will keep you playing for a bit more. Also you have the Hero difficulty which puts enemy damage up twice as much.

You cannot save anywhere but it's not nearly as bad. It's not dissimilar to the Owl statues of Majora's Mask but in case you haven't played that: You have to activate bird weathervanes to open save points and can interact with them to save. On top of that later on in the game you get an instant transportation feature added to your menu that allows you to instantly warp to any weathervanes that you've activated previously.

Unrelated to what you said, but PERIDOT!

Yes! Its like a blast from the past, its pretty cool, but for some reason didn't decide on finishing it... But its fun, everything is like a link to the past but more cartoony and less difficult but mostly the same thing, I got mine for christmas, and I decided to get the rest of the classic zelda series after this, its worth it if your a zelda fan and would spend hours on it like I did!

Bets 2d zelda game ever 10/10 my third favourite Zelda game... after playing this i fell in love with it and i was in new york at that time so the fun doubled while i picked up streetpass duels with other people in the street and in Nintendo world, its a WAY BETTER version of a link to the past and totally worth playing, i picked it up and only bad thing was that in a 4 days it was already at 100% :/ but i complete games way too fast and i still keep enjoying it with minigames thrown over there :p

Just noting here, but A Link Between World is not a better version of A Link to the Past in any capacity, because that implies that it's like a remake of LttP. ALBW shares the same overworld, artstyle, some bosses and even music as LttP but is a different title in and of itself and follows a quite different storyline. If anything you could call this a sequel to LttP.

ALBW is a must-have for the system and imo the best Zelda on 3DS.

Well, it really all depends on how much you like the 2D Zelda formula in general. The game has an interesting art direction, impressive graphics for the 3DS, amazing music based on that from a Link to the Past, and an excellent all-new story. If this sounds good to you, go ahead.
