I know it's crazy, but I never played The Legend of Zelda. Should I buy The Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds for 3DS? I really like RPGs. Please help!

Of course you should play The Legend of Zelda! Since you would are on 3dspedia I would assume you're a big Nintendo fan and you really enjoy RPG's then you simply must play one of them! I say you should buy it, it is one of the best Zelda games in the whole series with the most choice and accessibility with the ability to pick which dungeon you want to do. Along with the feature of buying items in any order you want. It is an overall great choice for a first Zelda game

A link between worlds is my favourite zelda game so im a bit bias but definitely a good game to play.

I'd say ZOMG YUS! The Zelda series is one of Ninty's best franchises imo.

A good starting point to the series (both for the 3D titles and to the lore overall) would be Ocarina of Time (I would recommend it's 3DS remake) since it establishes the series' main formula.

I'd also recomment OoT3D to start, it will give you the overall vibe of where the Franchise went later on. ALBW is a bit closer to older games, and they rarely go in that direction?

Down the line though, you should try both.

PS: They aren't RPG games so you won't have an RPG experience from Zelda.

Definitely :3 The Legend of Zelda games are always one of the most enjoyable ones. Solving various puzzles in dungeons and defeating memorable bosses is one of the things you'll enjoy. A Link Between Worlds isn't really a bad choice for a first Zelda game since it's rather easy but do try the other games :D

If you really like RPGs then you shouldn't be asking this question in the first place.

OOT 3d was ok but its not a good zelda game to start with at least nowadays

If you want to try something new and you like puzzles I'd recommend this series to you. OoT3D is a good game to start if you don't know what you're doing. The VC games are great if you want to wander around. Namely the original LoZ comes to mind and both of the games I mentioned have longevity because they come with harder second quests. OoT3D has to be one of my favorites of the two because you can play bosses over again and the cutscenes were memorable.

You should explain why, as many of use recommended OoT3D, just saying it's not a good one doesn't really help Amit. Please explain why and provide more details ;)

I'd say go for it, there's a lot of titles and they can vary quite a lot, so just go for whatever appeals to you.

(apart from skyward sword, i mean i like it but it's not a great entry point, it can put a lot of new people off)

Legend of Zelda isn't really a role playing type of game. It's more of a adventure game with action and puzzles. If you like the concept of exploring and solving puzzles then go for it. But one recommendation; Do not look up walkthroughs D: It kills the satisfaction of finally solving a puzzle after being stuck on it for yearz :p

What RPGS and LoZ have in common c:
  • Action. (If the rpg is action :p)
  • Exploring a big world
  • Potions and stuffz.
  • Different weapons
Give it a try. I recommend starting with Windwaker. It's my favorite Zelda game <3

The Legend of Zelda is a very solid series, any Nintendo fan should play at least one of its games, in my opinion :p A good starting point would be, like many others have said, The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, not only because it's a really good game and it's portable, but because it's very accessible and you can get a cheap used copy since the game's been out for around 4 years now. So, if you can't really get into the game, the investment would be much smaller when compared to buying a more expensive version like A Link Between Worlds, Majora's Mask 3D or Wind Waker HD.

Like everyone else has been saying: OoT is your best LoZ game to start off with without a doubt, though it's not how I personally started off the series. I first played Oracle of Seasons, which is still my favorite LoZ to this day.

Similar in style of the first LoZ, you can explore lots of different areas and monster-infested dungeons with your sword and items in handy. You're trying to save Din - the Oracle of seasons from not Ganondorf, but another evil threat named Onox. OoS is on the eShop, if my mundane description captivated your interest any. xP

If you were to try out the series for the first time I would really recommend "Legend of Zelda: Orcania of Time 3ds" of course it's not as good as the original for the Nintendo 64 console back in the day, but I like it, I think you would to.

Its a good game but its just outdated, OOT classic was great for its time but OOT 3d is just a re-skin and a bit bland by modern standards

It's still the refinement of the series' most basic premises, a bit dated, yes, but it's still an awesome 3DS game on par with many others.

And yet, calling it dated is a bit of a stretch, the graphics are up to par with this generation, the gameplay is solid and better than quite a few current-generation games, as is the dungeon design. The only actually dated things it has is the music and the storytelling.

I still like the game and think its worth the pricetag but just not the zelda game I would recommend first.

Eh, well, I recommend it for newbies since it explains quite a lot of stuff, from the creation myth, the triforce, the master sword, the sages, hyrule and it's geography and races, it introduces iconic characters like Hero of Time!Link, Sheik, Ganondorf (plus his origins) ans more.

That, plus the classic zelda formula, make it the best zelda entrypoint in my eyes. That's just my opinion though.
