Like a lot of people who played Smash, I would really hate to see Ice Climbers get cut. But there are ways that the Ice Climbers can be represented in the game. I said this before, but they can always be their own characters except on the same slot on the roster. For example, Olimar and Alph, the Koopa Kids, and Wii Fit Trainer. And maybe instead of calling them Ice Climbers, they can call them Nana and Popo. This way the 3ds can handle it and you when fighting against them you can choose to just go up against one instead of both at the same time. What do you think?

Well if the Ice Climbers were to return I think it would be best to have one of them, thus not only will the 3DS handle it but it would also save the time recording from two separate announcer clips to one. Either way wouldn't it be better just to have at least one instead of two?

I've spent the entire lifespan of the game so far hoping that somebody overrides Sakurai's decision and rightfully takes advantage of the Wii U's superior technology instead of arbitrarily holding back the game because of the 3DS' limitations. Given we're still getting a ton of balance patches and I don't think Sakurai is the type to do balance patches, I think somebody is overriding his decisions. So my fingers are still crossed.

I don't even like the Ice Climbers. I just hate seeing movesets removed and also hate that the Wii U version was held back by some strange compulsion to make the two versions rosters' identical. There's no crossplay at all. We stand to gain nothing from having matching rosters.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CHARACTER EXCLUSIVE TO A SPECIFIC VERSION!

You would rather go out and buy two separate versions just to have those specific characters for each version? Dude, it does make sense to have both versions have equal rosters so that you can have equal opportunity to practice.

Nope. I'd rather just not have the 3DS version. I don't have it now, and no matter what happens to the roster I don't intend to get it. It's the inferior version and shouldn't be holding the Wii U version back. It should be left in the dust, especially when it's proven to force the removal of a series mainstay like the Ice Climbers.

Given the site we're on I know that's not a popular opinion, but it's a statement of fact. The 3DS' limitations held the Wii U version back, and it shouldn't.

No. Ice Climbers were unique because they were Donkey Kong but with two characters and a better recovery and a projectile. The biggest issue with the 3DS version is it's limitations and because of that if Nana and Popo were in there would need to be one playable character and assists every now and then like the way Mega Man works with his attacks and it would hy off from the original purpose of having Ice Climbers being playable. I could see both their clothes being Mii Costumes but not necessarily playable characters and the updates are too big already (unless you can get rid of past ones and I've never heard of it).

Like I mentioned before, it would be better to have one over having none

None of these characters really stood out to me, but I feel like due to size limitations, they wouldn't come back. I think as an alternative, costumes for the Miis for these characters as well as maybe incorporating their move sets somehow would work.

I want Ice Climbers to return but probably just one. The 3DS can't handle 2. Having one Ice Climber but being able to pick which one with the alternate costume thingys. And in the victory screen the one that didn't fight can high-five the one that won. It would be cute. Idk I would rather have some other DLC characters than the ice climbers. I hardly know them and I don't care about them. If they came out and If I had smash I probably wouldn't get them because I'm not going to fight with a short eskimo when I can fight with the hero of time or something xD

I dont see why so many people want them back. All they were good for were chain grabs which cant be done anymore (cant regrab for a set amount of time after a successful grab). If it was just one of them, it wouldnt be ice climberS so it would be pointless.

I really wanted to see Ice Climbers back in Smash 4, but it was revealed that they wouldn't come back due to the 3DS's hardware. They were able to be made on the Wii U, but since Sakurai wanted to keep the rosters the same, they were eventually scrapped and made into a trophy instead.

I've never really liked the Ice Climbers much, but making a return would be nice :) Though it'd be hard if something like only for the Wii U will happen. Maybe there's some sort of way to have the Ice Climbers in both versions, maybe one day they'll find out how >.>

It can only happen on wii u. 3ds already has quite a hard time with 4 players, I do not think it can handle a 5th player(2 ice climbers) It can happen on the wii u though, but then again, with 8 player smash, there will be a 9th character making it really confusing but still, it would be nice on the wii u version.

Maybe they could do what they did with Wii Fit Trainer and have a male version and a female version and you can switch to which one you want to play as, maybe.

I'm not really sure why there's a poll with 3 other people if the title suggests if we would want one character in Super Smash Bros. Either way, I voted for Wolf. Regarding the true purpose of the post, I have little experience with them, that being because I never bothered to pick them. And even so, they are probably not the ones I would use in For Glory. I could care less if Nintendo found a way to include them in both versions, although I'm more inclined to say no.
