Based on ideas I had thought up a while ago, Mario Maker would be great on Nintendo's handheld the 3DS. I can also support amiibo whether it be via peripheral or New 3DS touch screen. Either way, It would be a great addition to the 3DS line up. Now that leaves you the question y'all being voted on. Vote!

I really want Mario Maker for the 3DS, not just Wii U, but I heard it hasn't sold well in Japan for the Wii U :O I would buy it, even though Japanese users dislike it, but if they added multiplayer or streetpass, it would be the greatest. I wish that the graphics would be better though, but eh.

I'd love Mario Maker to be on the 3ds to be honest :D , But I don't really think that the 3ds would be able to handle it much well though ... since they might have to cut out on some features and I think it is better as a Wii U exclusive game and it really much better works that way . So as much as I would want Mario Maker for the 3ds , I think it is more fit for the Wii U .

It doesn't come out until September. How did you hear it isn't selling well?

Oh, I thought it had for Japan, I was probably looking up the wrong thing xD

Mario Maker WiiU is just better because all games are better in the WiiU console with its graphics and its looks and the gamepad is huge! For mario maker! But it will be cool to see it be in a handheld console like a 3ds for people who travel a lot or people who dont have a wiiu. But I got a wiiu and i would like it to work for all games

I think mario maker on the 3ds would be pretty cool. I do not know why Nintendo did not think about that. Maybe because the 3ds would not be able to handle mario maker. If it did come to 3ds, I think that they would have to add less items into the game so it can run on the 3ds. I really want mario maker to be on it but it is very unlikely.

I don't care if it's on 3DS or not, but if it is, I'd buy it. Until then, though, I'm focused on the Wii U version.

I would buy mario maker on wii u, but if I had a choice, 3DS, because mario maker would earn the company more money since people will buy both versions. I mean, a portable super mario level creator sounds perfect on the 3DS. And the 3d feature would be cool to see in classic 2D mario too!

It'd be nice but I prefer it on the Wii U due to the Wii U having better graphics and stuffz. I think people with only 3ds's and not Wii U's would want this, but that's for every game so eh ;-; Wii U all the way cause if they added multiplayer it would be cool ^-^

It could actually go on the 3DS quite nicely, in fact I think it will sell more on the 3DS than the wii u. I get that their putting Mario Maker on the wii U for SOME purpose. What that purpose is I don't really know. The 3DS would make it even better in fact, due to the fact it's portable and stuff

the only reason why i think they didn't put mario maker on 3ds is due to technical limitations, but then again Smash bros, monster hunter 4 ultimate and Hyrule warriors legends might prove me wrong so idk but i still hope to see mario maker on 3ds, i mean street pass opens a world of unimited possibilities, i think they could let players share courses via street pass, and maybe even add spot pass courses in special ocations, maybe even using the character outfits to celebrate the launch of a game from cetain franchise, there are lots of new ideas they could make with a 3ds version, i only hope we get one

It would be cool to have it on the 3ds but I don't have any idea if it would be stable without much glitches or bugs in the game, of course it will have bugs and glitches but it might have poor performance or a lot of bugs and/or glitches in the game. But I would buy the game if it releases on the 3ds and I am buying it on the Wii U too :D

I dont think it does so because they will have to remove Super Mario U because 3ds wont support those graphics lol they would have to put New supra mayro bros 2 graphics instead and that would take em some work actually mario maer will be realeased soon but it would be fine to have a 3ds version of it

If people want to see the game on 3DS/New 3DS, they can have it. But I don't think I would be getting it. If there was a demo I could try, I would gladly play it. But I don't think it would really change my mind. A game where you make your own Mario levels? Ehhh...

I think it should because not everyone has a Wii U so they can get the actual game. It would be pretty hard to downsize a Wii U to make it a 3DS one seeing as there is a huge difference in graphics and processor. I wouldn't buy it if it did manage to reach the 3DS because I'll be getting the Wii U version for sure. xD

I would so buy it for the 3DS. I do not see why it couldn't be ported over because it has a touch screen just like the Wii U does. Not everyone that owns a Wii U is always home to play and I think a 3DS version to make it mobile will not only skyrocket sales of the game but it will add more players to contribute to the amazing talented levels that are created for us to enjoy.

This article completely agrees and discusses more upon WWDIY than the actual Mario Maker game to come on 9/11 but this is mostly likely Miyamoto's biggest reason why there may not be Mario Maker for the 3DS even though the internet connection would be better on the 3DS compared to the DS/DSi.

I'd enjoy to see a Super Mario Land skin in addition to those skins, if SMM ever came to the 3DS (this, I highly doubt, but then again... Hyrule Warriors). It would be an exclusive to the 3DS version. Exclusive content for game ports makes a game worth buying (or buying again) on that platform, depending on the quality and quantity of the content.
