So, as many people know, the Wii U has had quite a slow start. Some people are ever suggestion Nintendo drop the console all together. What do you think?

I personally think that Nintendo should continue supporting it. My reasoning is that it is at its worst now and Nintendo are still comfortably riding on the success of the 3DS and their endless money banks. I think it's healthy for the industry to have a niche product like the Wii U to offer gaming experience which aren't possible or easily accessible on other platforms, because otherwise we're just going to have a number of same-y products and nothing innovative to evolve the medium.

So yeah, keep fighting the good fight, Nintendo.

Nintendo dropping the Wii U would make things even worse. They can still make a big comeback, especially judging by their plans for E3 and the success of the 3DS which had a rocky start - and as you said, they have lots of money. If they stop the Wii U now, even less people will support them and will be wary of buying their next home console. Nintendo should make this E3 one of their biggest ever and unleash tons of games, improve advertising/marketing and really target a certain audience (for example, casuals like they did with Wii - people will buy the console if they know about it).

Smash and MK8 should make things a lot more better. I think the Wii U will do really well once both are released, so I don't think they should drop it.

I don't think they should exactly..

I think if they can improve it right it can be a great system!

Heck no! I think it has so much potential. I believe Nintendo will make a comeback with MK8 and Smash 4.

It's a matter of patience. Nintendo is slowly releasing its good games so that their fans don't get too spoiled. Once the Wii U has Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. the crowds will start to gather and all buy a Wii U.

The Wii U is a good system, but a better name and more games would make it a better console.

Pretty much! It's almost a given that with the release of Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. the sales will rise dramatically. Especially over the holidays.

As long as Nintendo is making money, I don't think they'll stop making consoles, and I don't see them ever putting their precious characters on any other system. If they were to stop making home consoles, I think it would be because they want to focus on being more portable.

I don't own a Wii U myself nro really hear much about it, but I don't think Nintendo should drop it at all, if they created a console and made it public dropping it and no longer supporting it would not make the company look good. People will be worried about Nintendo dropping other console they have made public plus if Nintendo came up with a new console and released it, that console may not get as many sales as it could get due to Nintendo making the mistake of dropping the Wii U.

I feel that Nintendo should keep supporting it and make sure it gets better.

Nintendo definitely should not drop the Wii U. For it to have really good support they need 3rd Party exclusives, full game ports, 1st party exclusives and they need better advertising like when they used to do their ads they said "This is how U want to play" instead of "How do U want to play" and open ended question would probably attract a bigger audience including myself, even I was hesitant to buy the Wii U.

Whoever suggests Nintendo should drop the Wii U are just plain ignorant. And it's not just ignorance of Nintendo, it's ignorance of gaming in general. Thank goodness such shortsightedness doesn't permeate through the industry, or our favorite hobby would be done for.

lolno

I think most people agree that Nintendo had the best E3 this year (in terms of exclusive content). Anyone that disagrees there is ignorant. I may be biased at times but Nintendo has more exclusive games coming out that are more innovative than any of the competition. Nintendo would have to want to harm themselves for them to be dumb enough to drop the Wii U.
