Should Smash Bros. have more SEGA characters?

Now, don't get the wrong idea. I'm not asking for characters like Alex Kidd or junk like that. I'm mainly asking for new Sonic The Hedgehog characters. (Although, Hatsune Miku would be pretty dang awesome!) Mainly, I want to see Tails, Knuckles, or Shadow. And Amy or Metal Sonic would be awesome as well. I think Tails would be awesome as a character. In fact, Tails was very close to becoming a character in SSB4, as he was very high in the Smash Ballot contest. But, he wasn't high enough, so hopefully, they'll install him in the possible Nintendo Switch Smash Bros. Knuckles would be pretty dang awesome as well. I mean, just imagine using the Shovel Claw as an attack! Shadow would probably be one of my most wanted Smash characters. (If not, then very close!) I mean, if I could use Chaos Control on the battlefield, I might faint with joy! Now, don't misunderstand. I'm not asking for these characters to be installed in SSB4. Mainly, I want to see a Nintendo Switch Smash Bros. with at least one of these characters! What do you guys think? Do you think these are good suggestions, or do you think you have better ideas?

Sonic himself is already too many sonic characters. (I'd like to have seen Lip from Panel De Pon instead. I'd like to have seen Waluigi instead. Heck I'd love to have seen Chrom, Viridi, and/or Ashley do more than assist or be clothing instead of that blue rodent.)

Or any of his canonical/non-canonical friends.

I don't think we should get more Sonic characters, but more Sega ones would be cool, like Nights, or Ristar, nothing against Sonic but I believe more franchises deserve to have some spotlight, though if we were to have a Sonic character give me Knuckles

Well if they did, they’d have to add more third party characters to other franchises to help balance it out, and I don’t think they need to add more characters but more franchises, i mean snake was pretty cool. And they also need put there resources in the right place. We don’t want more clones, ( I don’t hate sonic, neither like it, just putting this point here)

@OshaWhat!!! I don't really see why Ninty needed Solid snake in Brawl. Shulk I probably understand as promotional for his 3DS reboot, Megaman as a nod to Capcom's namesake. (Probably the same goes for Ryu.) and Bayo was a shocker. (Also promo for her namesake exclusively for Wii U, or... something.)

Shulk isn't a 3rd party character he's owned by Nintendo

Eh, I think Sonic is enough for Smash. :/
