Whenever I boot up Smash, it takes a fair amount of time to load up. Can someone explain to me why this is? Thanks

On 3DS or on Wii U? The start up takes a while to load because it tries to access data saved on your 3DS/Wii U and the SD Card so that you can share it online. My 3DS takes a good 45 seconds to load up smash and my Wii U also takes about 30 seconds or so to load up smash. It's nothing really wrong with the game it's just trying to load lots of data when you start it up. Which was also present in Brawl the "Now Loading" screen took it's fair time to load too so I believe nothing is wrong with your copy

Well for 3ds, it does take a while for the game to start up. The game is more powerful than any 3ds game, which also explains why the system turns off when you close it. All you need is patience. I don't know whats so bad about a slow start up.

Super Smash Brothers game does start up a pretty long time because of the size of the game as well as it accessing all the necessary game files . This is natural for the game being one of the most largest games . Even the demo tends to do that already . That's why there was a N3dsXL with better processing to deal with that problem ( well for the 3ds version )

Thank you all for your explanations! That really helped!

There is nothing wrong. When you start the game it is to check new updates about your game and data you shared/collected. My 33ds take like 45 seconds to load as well but the system isn't as much as the Wii u, which takes 30 seconds total.

Yea like everyone said there is nothing wrong it takes at least 1 minute to lead any of the uper smash bros 4 game either for the wiiu or 3ds! And because its just such a large game and it needs to get your saved data
Also the downloadable you have increases the loading times as well since that is extra data added in the game. I don't think that it takes as long as brawl either it's just how much data is stored on the device.
