Hey, North American 3DS owners! It's time to jump for joy, because the Big N has -finally- announced the standard-sized New 3DS with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer bundled together to be released in North America!

Glad to see it coming out in America for those that wanted it. Whenever I get around to buying a capture card-ready 3DS, I'll probably get the normal sized New 3DS. I already have a New 3DS XL, so I might as well have a little variety, eh?

That's so cool! I would love to have it despite its standard size. I love the colorful buttons!

Awesome :woot: I can perhaps get this instead of the N3dsXL :p

Ohhh, this is good news!!! I really liked the smaller New 3ds, so it finally coming over is really great!! I'm not that big of a fan of the larger 3dsXL. I have tiny hands; the regular size is perfect, and with all my experiences with friends 3dsXls, the handheld is just too large. I hope they sell it without the bundle though; I'm not all that interested in Happy Home Designer at the moment. That might change when it comes out, but for now, I'm pretty neutral.

Agreed, same here.

I got my 3DS XL in December 2013, and it's holding up perfectly. I don't think I'm upgrading anytime soon, if ever.
I personally like the smaller system. I regret not getting the smaller version, as I like the compact ones and I prefer pixel density over screen size. Heck, I can do well with a 2-inch screen, so it's not a problem for me.

I'm glad that NA users can get their hands on the standard model now, it was pretty unfair that it wasn't introduced in the first place. A larger handheld isn't suited for everyone, and it's a cheaper version for those who wish to purchase it. Hopefully this will sell more units in the long-run.

Agreed.

My 3DS XL is personally holding up perfectly so far, I only have a single scratch on it so far.

However, if my system does wear out, I will gladly buy a smaller-sized New 3DS.
I currently regret buying the 3DS XL. I have average sized hands, and the system feels quite heavy/bulky.

I also like the added feature of coverplates on the New 3DS.

I know there might be advantages the XL versions of these systems have over the standard size. But honestly, I feel much more comfortable with the standard design. So I'm glad that I'm be able to play better games on a comfortable system. But I question though: will there be New 3DSs sold without the bundle? I have never really tried Animal Crossing although it sounds like a cool game. But I don't want to pay more than a New 3DS XL costs. I just want the system and I'd rather get the themes and the game some other time.

Me really want this. The coverplate is cute enough to show everyone and I am fond of Animal Crossing. And yes, I want a non-XL new 3DS.

The problem is that, yeah, USD current rate to my currency is pretty awful, even to buy a physical game.

So we get a standard (AKA better) sized special edition 3DS for a fairly good price with a great game?! That's pretty good :D anyway, I didn't even know there was a Happy Home Designer game for Animal Crossing... I'll have to tell my buddy about this deal... he'll be excited \: D/

No! And I just got a new xl model a week ago... Guess I'll just stare in envy at everyone who has the normal one, what with their FE: Fates covers...

I still love the naming for this thing.

"Hey, I want that new smaller New Nintendo 3DS."

I still want one though x_x I hope they keep the coloured buttons and stuff for the next handheld.

It's a way of marketing, haha. Now all of us who own the Original 3DS/3DS XL are calling it the Old 3DS.

I really want to pick it up, but at the same time I'll wait for a standalone console in black. Not interested in AC: Happy Home Designer :/

I mean, you could always sell the download code if it's not pre-installed on the system like the opening post says - not sure if the console comes in black in the bundle too, though... but I guess it's better just to wait for a black one, yeah. :p

Is there a Black Friday special for it somewhere? It's on Amazon for $199 right now. It's $220 everywhere else (barring obscure stores).
