After 2 years, I'm Back!
Towns Folk
Me just playing my routine fight with 1 Level 9 AI at 2-5 Stocks after downloading Smash 4's 1.5 update.
I noticed that the AI fights different from what I usually play with...

AI version 1.5

- Predicts better than previous version
- Reacts faster
- Does more perfect blocking
- Does better timing with air dodges than the previous version
- Does better timing with smash attacks than the previous version

Well, that's about it lol The comparison is based on my observations from the previous version and you're entitled to your own opinion about it lol I bet there are more things that the new version has in-stored for us that we don't know yet lol

I don't know if I just suck, but the AI on my Wii U seems pretty buffed too. Especially on incoming attacks. They can like predict your counter. I don't even know. XD I think you're right... but I may be paranoid. Lv 9 was annoying enough already :p

I think that's true. I used to beat the lvl 9 quite easily but now I get a lot of surprises. Whenever I predict their attacks based on what they always used to do, I am wrong before they now do something else -.-

Well I am glad they did it, it used to be kind of useless but now maybe it will be a real opponent that you can consider for your training :)

I'm glad they upgraded their LV 9 AI's difficulty too lol After beating the LV 9 so many times in the previous versions, they seemed so easy lol In fact, they were easy even if I were to fight them 2 V 1 honestly speaking lol The 1.5 version of the AI feels like the one from Super Smash Bros. Brawl lol In Brawl, the AI there is so annoying >.> lol

I had heard that the AI on the 3DS was hard on like level 8 and 9, but now I guess it'll be about the same as the Wii U. Imo, and again this is just my opinion, I feel like Smash for Wii U was more polished than Smash for 3DS was, even though it came out later. But I'm glad 3DS is getting updates and such now. o:

I played against Lv. 9 CPUs today (and won, boast boast boast :p) and I think the 3DS version's AI has indeed been improved. I think it's much more like a human player now. Better at defending and grabbing.

Interesting to know the Wii U version already had this level of AI. :panda:

I definitely noticed that the AI have been improved now. I was easily able to edge guard and gimp Lv. 9 CPU's from recovering, but now they seem to be so much better. It's almost like they know what's going to happen every second of the match.
I grab the AI, side-throw them off the ledge, follow to hit them off-stage, but they simply air-dodge and get back on stage.

I have also noticed that the Shield has brighter reflections after the update, it looks better overall.

Yeah I noticed that the Als got smarter. In the previous versions, I would beat Lv. 9 cpus without a problem. Then when I updated it, the Als were kicking me pretty badly at Lv. 9. Well, at least they put up a better fight and a better challenge than their previous selves. Now time for some hard core training.

If they did buff them up. Then I'm somewhat glad. That way you can become even better at Smash and it gives more of a challenge to the game, I don't know if it was just me or my luck or the game in the original version, but the invisibility frames are super annoying to deal with, especially when you properly and accurately execute a up slash only to find it go through the opponent.

I think that they must have buffed them in someway because my friend was telling me the other day that he noticed some very changes and sometimes he is not being able to counter correctly at the bots . I wouldn't know this for sure but it seems others are getting it too so maybe yes . It is better for competitive players who thought they were to easy . So it is very good :D

The Lv. 9 AI is good however they aren't impossible to beat. You can spike them and they lack a decent edge game. They are good in their neutral game though and are very defensive.
