So people have been wondering what exactly happens when you connect to the Wii U with your 3ds system. After doing some research, I have deduced that when you connect to the Wii U, you will unlock some hidden characters and possibly stages. Some of these characters could potentially include Mewtwo, the chorus brothers, Ridley, and Dixie kong. Some speculated unlockable stages are The gamer, The new starfox stage, and as many people have requested, Halberd from Super smash bros brawl.

That's so full of fake... All of those things are just a rumour, you know...

I agree, that's just a rumor, and I suppose it's fake, mostly considering one of those characters were removed due the 3DS lack of power.

Now, what was confirmed is the ability to send content between both versions (like the Fighter Mii) and also use the 3DS as a controller, but that's all.

I believe the connection between 3DS and Wii U is simply just for transferring your Mii character, Passing over characters you have unlocked on 3DS over to the Wii U, Transferring over customization's you have unlocked and customization pages for your characters that you have made, transferring your high scores in whatever battle style you did (e.g. smash run, arcade, home run contest, 100 man brawl etc.), and like ErixSan said to use your 3DS as a controller.

This is just my option and could very easily be wrong when the game comes out XD

The game at one point TELLS YOU that you have unlocked all of the possible stages/characters. I have a feeling that there won't be any DLC or add-ons to super smash bros. It would be nice, but Sakurai and his staff have worked their butts off to give us an amazing game. I think Smash Bros. is perfect the way it is!

Sakurai has already said though that he will be releasing patches for Super Smash bros.

No offense but al of this is fake. Im pretty sure Sakurai said they would both Have the same characters.

They're already a few patches released, still I suppose just one reached the North America and European release (they compiled all the Japanese updates in just one)

This is fake, when you connect it to the wiiu you use your 3ds as a controllercontroller

Whether that is true or not... OMIGOSH that would be amazing! I'm so used to the controls on the 3DS, that I would not want to take the time and effort to re-learn them on the gamepad lol. Wow, now I really wish for what you said to actually be true. I know one of the aspects of the 3DS connection to Wii U is to transfer custom characters, but would there be more to it? Maybe it also has something to do with Amiibo? The possibilities are endless! :woot:

I think I will try to play with the Pro Controller only, and if I'm quite addicted, the gamepad only if I use the off-tv mode :p
Still, you should know the button placement for the Nintendo consoles are the same on the 3DS and the Wii U, so that won't make a bit change at all actually.

No, it's been confirmed that's what the connection is for so you should stay excited about the controls

According to what it reads on the Wii U menu (in SSB43DS) and what I had thought, that's all you can do as far as we know. Nothing else has been confirmed.
