SSB for Wii U Smash bros. Wii U adapter questions.

I have been wanting to get the Super Smash bros. Wii U gamecube adapter but I have a couple of questions first;

• Can the official smash bros. controller work on older consoles?(i.e. Wii and gamecube consoles/systems)
• Can the official smash bros. controller work on the Wii part of the Wii U?
• Can the adapter compatible with the original gamecube controller?(not the official smash bros. controller, the original gamecube controller)

Please help me with this, I want to get this but I want to make sure what I'm buying is actually what I want or in other words expecting from my buy.

1. Yes the official smash 4 gamecube controller works on older consoles. My friends and I played Melee and Mario Kart Double Dash using those controllers and it worked normally.
2. Yes, you can use the official smash controller on the wii menu of Wii U, my friends and I played project m like this.
3. The adapter is compatible with old Gamecube controllers, so if you have a prized GC controller you can use it for Smash 4 :3
