With the NEW Nintendo 3DS XL confirmed for the NA region, Smash skills could increase exponentially. That new C-stick opens many windows of possibilties in battle. Now people can tweak their gameplay to a whole new level. I ,for one, am looking forward to it as I use a Gamecube controller when I play Super Smash Bros. Better watch out when playing For Glory Mode. What do you guys think about it?

I think that the C-stick is too small, too not-a-stick (I mean you can't tilt it, you don't even know if what you did worked when you use it) and too high (the GC C-stick was below the buttons) to be really usable in Smash.

But in fact, I wouldn't care that much, I never use the C-stick on my GC Pads :p
I always Smash with the A button and the only reason I'd need the C-stick is directional aerial attacks, but I still use the A button for that too, even though that's not always the best.

It could get intense. I agree with Hayleia bout how it's high and small, yet it could tally up to be a very strong, little, stick. I could see it as a very useful tool being able to auto smash, but it's small so you must make sure you get your finger on it and it might take up time...

I like to think of holding the c-stick button and moving the v-pad like using the gamecube c-stick or right joystick. Basicly all it does is have your character do "Smash Attacks", chargeable versions of Basic Standard movesets. It only works on ground however.

Do you think the C-Stick on the New 3DS will be akin to that on the GameCube controller, or a tool for better perception/angling?

@Lexi.D During the latest Nintendo Direct, it was stated that the C-stick will be able to pull off Smash attacks. So I guess it will be akin to the GameCube controller, after all. Although, now that you mention it, a feature should have been made for precise angling for some attacks. Oh, if I could land every Marth spike with ease.:)

Its barely a stick, I doubt it would make any significant change to the outcome. I can see few possibilities it'd help though, so technically it DOES bring advantage.

I never use the C-stick (EVER) but you make it sound breathtaking. I don't even own a GameCube controller. But I've heard it's used for aerials and stuffs (smash pro here guys watch out) It should not affect the game as much >. < I think smash still requires tons of skill despite the stick.

1. I totally agree with you, I prefer using the gamecube controller
2. Honestly, it's not that hard to smash by tapping the circle pad in the direction while pressing A. Seriously.
3. The N3ds C Stick looks complicated. Like one of those Dell red things in the middle. It's so small too. Odds are it's be wrong half the time and smash in a different direction.
