So through out my experience with smash bros. I have gone through several controllers with brawl I used the Wii remote Then when I learned about the GC controller I started using that. Now I'm at the point where I'm using the 3ds for the 3ds version and the gamecube controller for project m. When the Wii u version comes out I will most likely be going with the gamecube controller. What controller are you going to use for ssbu and what are your experiences with controllers in the past?

Trust me, ditch the GC controller, the WiiU pro controller feels godlike. The button layout is so much nicer, and to top it all off, the right thumb stick feels much nicer for smash attacks.

Thanks for the tip I'll try it out since the gc adapters are sold out

I prefer the Classic Controller Pro. It feels really good while playing. The Wii U Gamepad for me = :meh: It doesn't feel good.

I'm hardly provided an opportunity to use the WiiU screen, as my younger sister always rushes to it the moment I turn Smash Bros. on. I've tried playing with the Wii remote, the GameCube controller, and the 3DS... and of the three, the GameCube controller is easiest to use. Perhaps this is because I grew up playing Melee, and am used to the controls. The Wii remote took me a while to learn... and even when I learned it, it still didn't seem to come to me second-nature, as the GameCube controller does. The 3DS is fine, though I prefer having the c-stick – and preserving the battery on my 3DS.

I vote nintendo 3ds because I like having two screens insted of one. Also I feel more comfortable with the buttons and in both games
I'd like to have the 3ds as a controller. And I think that 3ds is better than Wii U as a came consolle.

I use the PDP wired fight pad since i couldn't find a reasonable price for a gamecube adapter and controller since the fight pad is pretty much a GC controller but connects to a wii remote

I use the Wii U GamePad. I don't have a Wii U Pro Controller and I don't feel like dishing out $100 for the GameCube adapter. Wii Mote/ + Nunchuck is awful.

I myself prefer the GameCube controller over anything else, and I have gone to the point where I almost purchased a mod for the 3DS that allowed you to use a GameCube controller for SSB4 3DS. I have used a gamecube longer than any other console I've owned, (~5 years +) and I am extremely used to the button layout on it. If you do watch some tournament videos on YouTube for SSB4 Wii U, you'll see that everyone is using A GC controller.

If I didn't have to buy the adapter, I'd be using the Gamecube controller. But I use the classic controller pro (Yoshi edition :D) instead. I really want the limited edition Smash Brothers GameCube controller, but I doubt I'll ever get it. It'd still be a cool thing to have, seeing as I still have my GameCube, and still play from time to time.

Gamepad because Off TV Play works like a dream, especially in my house, but I have a weird way of holding it so when I use up it sometimes goes diagonal left. It's screwed me over a few times but I'm trying to improve.
GameCube gets some use since I was fortunate to find one with ease and it feels pretty nice, though I was never a GC elitist.
I'm thinking of investing in a Pro Controller, for future games as well.

I know this is going to sound awkward and stupid but...I use the Wii Remote + Nunchunch combo.Yeah,it's pretty bad using it at first impressions, but it's precise at least, and after a bit of getting used to,it's decent for playing Smash, and you can still customize the button options the way you like(been using this ever since I played Brawl). Also,I use it more than the solo Wii Remote option, because dashing on the D-Pad is a nightmare to accomplish, since you have to press the left or right side REALLY hard in order to do so.I hope I don't get a lot of dislikes for this, because I only have this, the solo Wii Remote, the GamePad and the 3DS as controller options as of now. :bag: :brb:
