So today I closed out of the Activity Log and found my Smash Wii U icon has a blue-glowing outline. I thought there was an update but the game loaded like normal when I opened it. Any help?

On another fourm, I read the outline glowing blue was the equivalent of the 3DS's Spotpass blue dot notification. I have no idea what Spotpass does in Smash Wii U.

Edit: I went to Internet Options and at the bottom when highlighting SpotPass it says "Receive notifications about this software via SpotPass.". I didn't see any thing in Notices other than past notifications, so I didn't get what it meant.

Does Smash have online score tables? That might be the reason why you keep on getting the blue icon. Googling around for the answer didn't really do my any good so I have no idea how to help you here

The game has a type of "score" called Global Smash Power, but you can't even see others'.

I have never seen that before actually. I do not play the Wii U or rather, smash wii u, very often and when I do I mainly play with my siblings. I don't play online or anything. I never look at these things anyway, but I guess thats a good thing to know.

Though this thread is very old, there is a very easy solution to turn the blue light off. Wii U console "System Settings" ~ "Power Settings" ~ "Configure Quick Start Settings"~ "Quick Start Menu" ~ "Alert Notifications Via Home Button LED" ~ Enable/Disable. After doing this, the flashing blue light should go away.

Literally just means someone on your friend list is playing and/or you've received a new replay or something
