SMT x FE: TRPG vs SRPG

Being short you should already know Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem is on the makes for the Nintendo Wii U, being actually made by Intelligent Systems with Atlus.

After the purchase of SEGA to Atlus, it's kinda funny it will be another Nintendo x SEGA title (if you don't believe me, check Persona Q, it includes the SEGA brand).

As you should know, the Shin Megami Tensei series is mostly about a TRPG (Tactical RPG, aka by turns) and Fire Emblem is a SRPG (Strategy RPG) where the gameplay is kinda different.

What do you think the genre will be?
Due the high quantity of characters, I bet it will be a SRPG with an exploration based mostly on the Persona series in a futuristic Japan like SMT series, maybe following a story kinda similar to SMTIV for the start...

It would be pretty cool if they mixed both. Made it so that you move characters on a map like Fire Emblem, but have the battles turn based where you can switch between multiple ongoing battles, and when you switch out of one to another it goes to AI. That would take a lot of micromanagement of course, but if the AI is good enough, then you could focus on more important battles while leaving the AI to the others. It would even work well with the WiiU tablet as it could show paralle battles on the tablet screen while the main one would be on the TV screen.

Sadly I doubt this will happen. All my brilliant ideas go wasted for more conventional gameplay.

not much has been said about the games that makes me mad. but i think it will be like srpg because i think there putting devil surivor charters in there and devil suvivoir is a trpg i think (im 91% sure it is) but i has to be released next year because its been annocued for a while and no nintendo direct has said anything about it

All we can do now is wait for more updates. Until they tell us the gameplay of this one. Honestly im excited to see SMT X FE. Although i haven't play those titles, maybe it's the start for me to get hooked to those games because i heard so many good reviews about it. Especially FE.
